My Scraps & More Crop & A Winner!

Happy Tuesday!
We have the Spring Into Summer Crop going on now at My Scraps & More, you have until May 5thto play along!
Each of the design team members posted 2 challenges, 1 spring and 1 summer.
My spring challenge is to use something wet on your layout. For my sample, I used Gesso on the edges of my background paper and added green Glimmer Mist and red paint spatters.

My Summer challenge is titled Yellow Polka Dot Bikini". The challenge is to use yellow polka dots and add string/twine on your layout.
For my layout, I used a mask and misted it with yellow Glimmer Mist for my polka dots. I added twine to the photo and button.

I had a blast getting messy with both of these layouts! I bought some modeling paste a few weeks ago, but haven't had time to play with it yet, hoping soon!

Now onto my winner of the 6x6 All About A Boy Echo Park paper pad. The winner is:

Another Spring Break, 2012 Layout

I am finally scrapping some of my Spring Break pictures from 2012, WOOHOO!

It's my day to post at the Just Imagine Blog today and wanted to share my layout here as well.

I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #920 for my border on this layout of Austin and Greg at Sea Life in the Mall of America:

Such a simple border and punching adds just the right touch to any layout or card.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me!

My Scraps & More Sketches

If you are here for the My Scraps & More Spring Into Summer Hop, please go HERE.

It's Friday! That means there is a new sketch posted at the My Scraps & More Sketch Blog!
Here is sketch #26:

and here is my take on it:

The Spring Into Summer Crop started this morning on the My Scraps & More Message Board this morning. If you have scrappy time, would love if you joined in!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday!

Yay! The weekend is here!

I am hosting a FAST SCRAP challenge tonight on the My Scraps & More Message Board, would love if you played along! You can find all the details here.

I found another scrappy challenge blog and it's called: ALL ABOUT A BOY. I decided to play with their challenges this month and had fun with them.

The first challenge I played with was to use chevrons on your BOY layout. I fussy cut the yellow chevrons from patterned paper and also used red chevron washi tape. Here is my layout:

For the second challenge, they wanted you to use artwork from your little man on your layout. I have been saving this newspaper clipping for 5 years now and have always wanted to scrap it, this was the perfect challenge to do that! Austin drew a winter scene in school and it was on the front page of the paper!

and a close-up:

I had fun with these challenges and will be watching for more!

Just wanted to share one last card I made for the  Day 111 challenge at 365 Cards.
The challenge was to use this fun sketch by Wendi:

and here is my card using some more of the Echo Park Hello Summer Collection:

Ok, I am off for the day! Have a happy Thursday!

LGS

I had a chance to play along with a few sketches at Let's Get Sketchy earlier this week and working on the Echo Park Hello Summer Collection from my stash.

About A Girl

I found a new challenge blog, it's called About A Girl and I played with their first challenge, which is a sketch and you know how much I love sketches, so I had to play:)

Here is the sketch:

and here is what I did with it:

At My Scraps & More, we are trying to use up our stash. I am working on the Echo Park Hello Summer collection and decided to use that for this sketch. I have completed 6 layouts and 3 cards so far with this collection and I think I have enough to make at least 1 more card!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me!

Earth Day!

If you are here for the Inspiration Elevator blog hop, click HERE.

Today on the Just Imagine blog, the DT is celebrating Earth Day and we challenged ourselves to use earth tones and nature/beauty theme on our layouts. So, I thought what would be more perfect than a camping pic, right?! I used a pic of my sister, Donna and Sierra sitting by the campfire while Steve, Austin and Greg are out on the boat at dusk in the background:

I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #918 for my top border. I used the Kreaxions Star Template and traced onto my brown patterned paper, cut it out and punched the corners with Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch #310 to make my doily. I also punched another border with it.

Here are a few close ups:

Check out what the other DT members did with this challenge on the Just Imagine Blog.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me!

Please stop back tomorrow for a fun My Scraps & More Blog Hop, there will be an awesome prize and RAKS given away.

A Card For Just Imagine and a Scrappy Friend

Today I want to share a get well card I made for a scrappy friend who is dealing with so many health issues right now, she is in my thoughts and prayers daily.
I also used this card for my post on the Just Imagine Blog today.
I used lots of Just Imagine/Kreaxions tools on this card.
1. Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #306
2. Kreaxions Punch #604 (butterfly)
3. Circle Cutter
4. Butterfly Die

It's kind of hard to see in my photos, but the left side of the circle pops out. I used my circle cutter to add that. I cut the butterfly on my Cuttlebug using a B and a C plate and them dry embossed it. The flowers were punched using #306 and then I punched 2 small butterflies with #604.

Here is my card:

This photo shows the circle popped out a little better:

and another close up:

Thanks for sharing your day with me and hope you have a fun weekend!

Going Up With Inspiration Elevator!

Welcome to another Inspiration Elevator reveal! We are thrilled to celebrate the end of our first year of Inspiration Elevator challenges and are anticipating that the second year will see that creative growth continue to go UP! To celebrate our first anniversary and our fabulous designers, Christa and Ann decided to challenge our designers to take an in-depth look at a fellow designer's artistic portfolio via her blog, choose elements from that designers creations, and incorporate them into her own work. In other words, we are encouraging a scrapLIFT! Rather than a mere copy of someone else’s work, this is a stylistic scraplift that should inspire each designer to grow creatively as she is inspired, yet remain true to her own style.
As the second year of this creative journey begins, and as the popularity of Inspiration Elevator increases, we have created a new blog for our Inspiration Elevator Challenges. So, if you want to play along you can find the challenges and links to the inspiration all in one place! To celebrate our first year, our hopping will incorporate RAKs along the way – how exciting! Now, before you go hopping along, we want to let you know of a few personnel changes.

While, we are so excited to welcome back most of our original design team members for year two, we are saddened to be saying goodbye to Audrey Yeager. Audrey has creatively embraced every challenge over the past year, and has been a super part of our design team over the past 12 months. We hope you will continue to stop by her blog and see her gorgeous creations. Thank you Audrey for sharing our journey – we are grateful for you!

We are very pleased to announce a new member to our design team. Join us as we welcome Jodi Wilton. Jodi's design style is happy and whimsical and we are looking forward to sharing this new year of growth with her and seeing how her creative muse is tickled by our challenges.

We mentioned RAKs or giveaways at each designer’s blog this month, since we’re celebrating our first year. Please read each designer’s instructions regarding the giveaway as they will vary. We will post a final list of winners on April 24th on the Inspiration Elevator blog, so be sure to pop back, and if you create something based on this month’s challenge, please link it up on the blog!

Stop by and see what the designers on this adventure have created:

Lisa Moen- YOU ARE HERE

I have always admired Audrey's work and was thrilled that I would be LIFTING her this month! When going to Audrey's blog and looking through her work, I noticed her layouts always have lots of layers, stitching (usually it's not in a straight line like mine), distressing and ink or paint spatters or some kind of texture on her background. I took all of these things into consideration and decided to go one step further- Audrey created some sketches for My Scraps & More Sketch-a-thon last month and I loved this sketch, but didn't get a chance to play with it. So I decided to use her sketch as inspiration too this month!

Here's her sketch:

and a few of her layouts I took inspiration from:

Stitching:

She's so talented, isn't she?!!!

Thanks for the inspiration Audrey and you will be missed here at Inspiration Elevator!

I will be giving away this RAK to one random commenter.  All you have to do is be a follower of my blog, leave me a comment here and also go on over to the new brand spankin' new Inspiration Elevator Blog and leave a comment there. You have until Monday, April 22nd to comment. I will draw a winner on Tuesday, April 23 and all winners will be announced on the Inspiration Elevator Blog on Wednesday, April 24.

My RAK includes a My Minds Eye Sweetest Thing 6x6 paper pad and stickers, Authentique mini alphas, twine, doilies, flowers, ribbon and stickpins, a perfect card kit!

Now I will send you on your way to the fabulous Laurel Seabrook's Blog to see who she lifted!
