Wild Child

 Hey there scrappy friends!

Today I am sharing my take on cold case file #371 at CSI. I used papers from Echo Park So Happy, Simple Life and All About a Boy for the rainbow on this page of Austin:

I was inspired by the colors and rainbows along with the speech bubbles on the case file. I created a rainbow using scraps of patterned papers from Echo Park, then added machine stitching in matching thread to each.  I added some speech bubbles from Fancy Pants Be Different, which I stamped hearts and the date on. I also added a wood veneer sun from Creative Embellishments that I colored yellow with a Sharpie:

The monsters and arrows are diecuts from Fancy pants Be Different. I added some chipboard and stickers from that collection as well:

I added the word "time" using alphas from the Be Different collection. The "goes too fast" is a rub-on from Daisy D as is the "plays hard" in the above picture. I also added 3 Clouds from Creative Embellishments:

This layout was so fun to create and I love the outcome!
Hope you will play along with us this month as there are some wonderful prizes!

Wanted

Hey there friends!
I am back to share a western layout with you using some fun chipboard pieces from Creative Embellishments. Back in 2011 we were in Estes Park, CO for a wedding and on the way home stopped in Colorado Springs. A bunch of us went to the Flying W Ranch and took in a chuckwagon dinner and western show. There was a small town to walk through there and I took these photos of Greg, Austin and Sierra in the jail and one of my son in front of the wanted sign:

Check out the look on my son's face. I love it! I used October Afternoon Sasparilla for this page. I added watercolor to my background and then added a patterned paper behind my photo and machine stitched it to my background paper creating a pocket to tuck in the tag with my journaling. All of the chipboard pieces I used are from the Cowboy Set. I added white gesso to the skull:

I left the wanted frame naked and added a border sticker around parts of it. I colored the sheriff's badge with a silver Nuvo Glitter Marker. I added a few word stickers:

I added Lindy's mist to the gun and also added a gun sticker. I used ScraPerfect's Best Glue Ever to adhere the chipboard pieces to my page:

I had a blast creating this page and it was fun going down memory lane! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Halloween Decor

Hey there everyone! I can't believe it's October 1st already!

It's time for a new challenge at Creative Embellishments

This month, I was inspired by the trees, purple and black in the photo and decided to create a Halloween home decor piece using one of the Large Tags as my base. I added Modge Podge to it and then patterned papers from Fancy Pants October 31st, Rusty Pickle (remember them?), My Mind's Eye Lost & Found and Creative Imaginations.

I used acrylic paints to color the Creepy Trees and Happy Halloween. I added some sheer ribbon from my stash. I fussy cut the skulls from one of the papers:

I added stickers from Echo Park:

I used the tombstone, pumpkin, spiderweb and owl from Halloween Scene 2 and painted those with acrylic paints as well. I fussy cut the hat and placed it on the pumpkin:

Here is the inspiration photo and the challenge to go with it is to use stash:

I love how this turned out!
Hope you will play along with us this month as there is a gift certificate up for grabs!
