Printers Alley

Hey there Scrappy Friends!

Today I am sharing my take on sketch #558 at Sketches In Thyme. This fun sketch is by Shawn Lahr. I used BoBunny stash for this layout of Greg in Printers Alley in Nashville:

I used a spatula to add modeling paste through the Crackled Crick Stencil from Creative Embellishments. I let that dry over night and then watered down a Lindy's mist along with some watercolor spatters to the background. I added a few layers of patterned papers from BoBunny behind my photo. I used acrylic paints (after several layers of different mists and not achieving a satisfactory color) on the Grunge Circle chipboard Frame from Creative Embellishments. I fussy cut the words "Destination" and "Unknown" from BoBunny papers:

I fussy cut the arrow, man , suitcase and "explore' from papers. I added the Thicker heart:

I hand cut the arrow. popped it up with craft foam. I handcut the circle for journaling as well:

Here is the sketch:

I'd Rather Be Camping

Hey there!
I am back to share a fun camping layout of Greg that I created for Creative Embellishments.
I used Echo Park Let's Go Camping along with some beautiful Creative Embellishments chipboard pieces with you:

I fell in love with the Spruce Clusters when I saw them in the CE store! They are the perfect size for my camping pages. I need to order a few more sets, lol! I attached a few strips of 6x 6 patterned paper with machine stitching to my watercolored background. I colored the Spruce Clusters with inks and mists and glued them to my page. I matted my photo with patterned paper and placed it on top:

I added some diecuts from the Echo Park collection, popping them up with craft foam. I used a silver marker and acrylic paint to color the marshmallow stick and added it on top of the diecuts:

I used inks to color the picnic table and added it below my photo:

This page was so much fun to create! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Escape- Creative Embellishments

Hey there Creative Friends!
I am back to share a fun travel layout with you that I created using Creative Embellishments chipboard and Echo Park Let's Go Anywhere collection. This photo of Greg and Sierra was taken in June, 2019  on our trip to Germany:

I tore a strip of patterned paper and added it to my watercolored background. Then I added some machine stitching. I added a few layers of patterned papers behind my photo.  I used a black Sharpie to color the Small Globe and tucked it in behind my photo. I added a few diecuts along with a fussy cut camera:

I fussy cut the title from patterned paper and added the "route 66" diecut:

I used acrylic paint, a black Sharpie and a silver Nuvo Glitter Marker to color the Double Decker Bus. I fussy cut the hills, trees, cloud, "take me away" and "capture the memories" from the EP collection:

I added a few diecuts, more fussy cutting and the chipboard "Escape"

This was such a fun page to create and I love how it came out! I hope I have inspired you in some way. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

CSI: So Very Brilliant!

 Hello there friends!

Today I am sharing my take on case file #406 at CSI. I have to admit, I struggled with this one a bit. I had to get creative. My layout and hidden journaling is also about how creative Austin was. He is a thinker and very creative. I used all stash on this page:

I hand cut some clouds from some white cardstock, inked them, then added some machine stitching. I tucked in some felt Thickers above the bigger cloud. I added a wood silhouette from my stash. The light bulb is from Vicki Boutin. I fussy cut the "embrace creativity" banner from a Shimelle paper. I added a felt dot and the "noted" puffy sticker from Vicki Boutin. The striped paper is from Echo Park:

I used the Starburst Stencil from Creative Embellishments along with Distress Oxide Ink on my white background. I matted my photo with patterned papers. The teal is from Echo Park. The yellow is Shimelle and I'm not sure on the coral paper or frame- thinking it is American Crafts. The navy, stripes and ruler are from Echo Park. I added another fussy cut banner from Shimelle and an Echo Park word sticker below the photo. I added a journaling spot, a ticket and some punched leaves:

Check out the case files for this month. We would love to have you play along!

The Best Things In Life

Hey there Scrappy Friends!

Today I am sharing a sunflower layout with you that I created for Creative Embellishments. The high school I graduated from, planted a huge field full of sunflowers. I tookGreg and Sierra there to check it out. It was awesome!
I used an old BoBunny line- Forever Fall for this gorgeous page. Check it out:

I added acrylic paint to my background using a brayer. Then I added spatters. I used Gesso and acrylic paint to color the Skeleton Sunflowers and then backed them with patterned paper.

I matted my photos with a few different patterned papers. I fussy cut a few of the sunflowers from one of the BoBunny papers. I added a few Becky Higgins chipboard stickers and a Tim Holtz word phrase sticker that I cut in half. I also added a few diecuts and stamped the date on one of them:

For my title, I used The Best Things In Life chipboard piece and used acrylic paints to color it. I fussy cut a few dragonflies and added machine stitching to the centers:

Another close up of the Skeleton Sunflowers. Aren't they gorgeous? Lastly, I added white acrylic paint spatters:

This layout was so fun to create and I love that I mixed the chipboard pieces with papers from my stash. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
