Autumn Splendor

 Hello CE Fans!

I am back to share a layout with you that I created for Creative Embellishments.

Here in Wisconsin, it is fall. This layout is of my daughter and her boyfriend on top of Grandad's Bluff in LaCrosse in October. The view up there is fantastic on a normal day, but in the fall, it's gorgeous! If you get a chance, stop here-it's definately worth it!

Now on to my layout.

I used Doodle Bug Designs Flea Market collection along with lots of fabulous chipboard pieces from the store for this page:

I tore the plaid paper and added a strip at the top and bottom of my page. I machine stitched them in place. I added some yellow watercolor to the background and then started building the wreath:

For the base of the wreath I used the Fall Frame. I added some Wood Veneer Acorns, Skeleton Leaves, Falling Maple Leaves, a few words from the Autumn Word Set and a Fall Flair Button:

I used ink pads to color all the beautiful chipboard pieces. I also added a few word phrase stickers from the Doodle Bug collection. I stamped the date and added a bit of journaling:

Isn't that wreath gorgeous? I love it!

On the bottom of the page, I added a Fall Skeleton Leaf Set 4, a Skeleton Maple Leaf and another Falling Maple Leaf. On top, I added my title- Autumn Splendor. I also added a few stickers here as well:

Wow! That is a lot of chipboard! Love, love, love it!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Bloom & Grow

 Hey everyone!

Today I am sharing a layout I created using sketch #582 by Bev Code at Sketches In Thyme. I took photos of the flowers I planted this spring and used them on this page. I used Simple Vintage Farmhouse Garden by Simple Stories for this page:

I tore strips of patterned paper and stitched them to my white cardstock background. I added 6 photos, matting a few on patterned papers:

I added some stickers and diecuts:

Here is the fun sketch:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will play along with the sketches this month!

Wedding Mini Album

Hello Scrappy Friends!
Today I am sharing a mini album I created for Creative EmbellishmentsI used a tutorial from Bev Code. This album is a wedding gift for a friends son and his wife. I used Paper House Productions Wedding Day along with some wonderful CE chipboard pieces from the store:

On the cover, I added patterned papers, a doily, Little Birdie and Recollections flowers and a few Hearts:

Page 1 has a booklet that pulls out. The twine is from the wedding couples invitation. I wanted to incorporate it in the album as I did with the doilies in the popout album on page 2. The doilies were part of the invitation as well. I used a few words from the Wedding Word Set on these booklets:

Page 2 opens up into this. These words are from the Wedding Word Set too:

As Time Goes By

 Hey there Creative Friends!

9/11

Devastating!

It's been 22 years.

Where were you on that tragic day?

Today I am sharing a 9/11 layout I created for Creative Embellishments documeting a little about that day, as I remember it. I used Creative Embellishment chipboard along with Paper House Let Freedom Ring Boston papers:

I added some torn strips of patterned papers to the striped backgraound and did some machine stitching. I added the acetate piece with the gold stars and machine stitched 3 of the sides. I added in some blue glitter and a few star sequins to created a bit of a shaker to the right of the photos:

I colored the Star Banner with inks and added that to my page. I also colored the Full of Love Frame with ink. I placed my photos on patterned paper and placed them on top- adding foam tape where needed. I added in a few BoBunny diecuts:

Here's another look at the Star Banner. I added a few flowers here (Recollections and Fancy Pants):

I stapled together a booklet that I made and added my journaling to. I added some Carpe Diem word phrase stickers. I used Paper House alphas for my sub title:

I used As Time Goes By chipboard piece for my title. I colored that with inks as well:

Please take a few moments to think about those that lost their lives on this tragic day.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

It's the Little Things In Life

 Hello Scrappy Friends!

Today I am sharing my take on case file #418 at CSI. I used a lot of Echo Park  (Anything Goes, The Simple Life, Day In The Life and Photo Freedom) along with items from my stash for this layout of my friend and I:

I decided to create a grid and use the 4 colors in the file, other than the white which is my background, as the base for each grid. Then I popped in a few of the other colors in each part. I used a Cloud 9 Designs stamp and ink to stamp the "Life is better when it is FUN":

I hand cut the tag, added a twine bow and tucked it under the green block. I added some machine stitching to each block. I fussy cut the butterfly and stitched through it:

I also used a stamp with navy ink and added the dots on the background. I punched the butterfly and red striped border. I added some buttons and Shimelle enamel hearts:

I fussy cut the banner and butterfly. I also tucked in another tag, Hip Kit and My Minds Eye enamel dots and button:

Here is a quick look at the case file:

I was inspired by the colors and friendship theme. For evidence, I used: stripes, floral, grid pattern, people, hearts, flowers, clips, buttons, stitching, circles, string, tags, enamel dots and borders.

Check out the full file in the CSI Facebook group and play along with us!
