LGS 5th Monday

Good morning and {UGH} happy Monday!

There is an extra Monday this month so all of us at Let's Get Sketchy decided to make a fall or Halloween card for today.
I have been trying to use some of my stash and decided to use an old Fancy Pants paper line, Oct. 31:

I love the purple and the witches hat in this line, it's pretty yet Halloweeny :)

Stop on over to the LGS blog and see the cards the rest of the DT made.

Enjoy your day!

Sisters

Hello and welcome to the weekend!
Just want to share a layout with you that I have up on the Just Imagine Blog today. I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #921 with insert C on the corner of the blue patterned paper and added bling to the center of the flower. I then cut a border using the same punch with no insert and used the negative part of it for the border (red):

Here is the wonderful punch I used:

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Friends

Hello and happy Friday!
Friday means there is a new sketch up on the My Scraps & More Sketch blog!

This photo of Sierra and her friends were taken by the Wisconsin River before Homecoming. Aren't the colors on the trees gorgeous? I used an older line from BoBunny- Forever Fall:

Stickers

Today on the Practical Scrappers Blog the 10 Things team is using stickers! When I first started scrapping many years ago, stickers was the thing to use but then the scrappy industry kind of got away from them for awhile and now they have made a come back once again!

On my card, I adhered the pink chevron border sticker right at the seam of my patterned papers. I then added cardstock to the back of my blue flower and cluster of flowers (I do this all the time with my stickers that way I can put them on my layout to see if I like them and where I want them) and cut around the sticker. I then distressed and inked them and finally added foam tape to the back of them to give depth to my card:

I used the Echo Park Here and Now Collection for my card. Isn't it pretty?!
Hope you have a wonderful day and I hope to see you again soon!

A Little Bit Retro

Today on the Cards In Envy Blog I have a card up and the theme is: A Little Bit RETRO!- create cards featuring a style, fashion or design from the past.
This challenge had me stumped, so I finally Google "retro" and then it was easy.

Here is my retro card using a mix of some older October Afternoon lines:

I made this for my hair stylist friend, she is going to love it!
Stop on over to the Cards In Envy blog and see what the rest of the design team came up with.

Inspiration Elevator #17 September Challenge

If you are here for the Just Imagine Blog hop, please scroll down, or you can click HERE.

Inspiration Elevator

You may recall that the purpose of this challenge group is to take our scrapbooking to the next level, to stretch our creative process and to grow as artists by embracing challenges that make us think, work and grow. You can view all of the challenges our new Inspiration Elevator Blog, here.

Our challenge this month comes from the very talented Cathy Harper. Here's what she had to say in her very own words:
"I want to know what inspires you to create. As I was driving home the other day from my trip back to Black Hills, I saw a really cool billboard...clouds, the sun, and a few hearts. I immediately thought how great the design was and how I could transform it into a card or layout.(No, I didn't get a picture of it as it was the week of the annual Sturgis Bike Rally and no way was I pulling off the side of the interstate with all of that crazy traffic.) Even the other day, as I was walking through Target, I saw a couple of cute Baby gift bags that had great design principle that I could use as inspiration to create with too! Then it hit me that this would be a great challenge for my IE teammates. We recently had Sue's challenge where we were inspired by another teammate and lifted their style..but I want to know what else inspires you besides other designers cards and layouts. Are you a Pinterest addict like me? And find great design ideas there or in a magazine with a brilliant ad!? Find something inspires you, pin it or take a photo and create your work from there...you must include a photo of your inspiration and a link (if there is one) with your project for the challenge!"

I have a Pinterest account but it has been awhile since I have been on it and pinned. I used to spend way too much time on there pinning and never making, LOL. This was the perfect opportunity for me to do a little pinning, and I did!

The colors in this photo really caught my eye, I have always been a fan of orange and blue, maybe that's why.

I took the colors from this photo and the patterns from the pumpkins and came up with this for my layout of Greg, Sierra, Austin and I posing for a family photo in May at my nephews house.

I used a mask and modeling paste along with stamps, mist and washi tape to create my background. I fussy cut the black circle and added some thread in a few spots. The papers are from the Pink Paislee Portfolio collection,
Here is a close up:

I hope you will stop by and see what the  rest of the incredible Inspiration Elevator designers have created:

This photo was taken by the photographer at my nephews wedding. I am dancing with both of my kids. Oh what a fun night we had!

I started out by using the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #912 with insert A to create a mask by punching a piece of scrap cardstock:

I then placed the mask on my layout in 6 different spots and added texture paste to it. Once dry, I painted the top with Glimmer Mist:

For my border I used the 4 in 1 Kreaxions Punch # 916, with no insert, for my border on the bottom of my layout:

White Pen?

Today on the Practical Scrappers Blog we are working with white pens. My friend, Bev, introduced me to her favorite white pen, Signo, while we were at a crop in Houston last summer and it was soon my favorite too!
Any who, I used my Signo white pen to write my sentiment on this fun guy card I made my Dad for his birthday today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!

I used the This & That Collection from Echo Park and added an old fishing vest sticker I had for awhile.

Hope you will stop on over to the Practical Scrapper Blog and see what the rest of the girls did with their white pens!

Cards In Envy

Hello and happy Monday!
It's the first Monday of the month, that means there is a new challenge up on the Cards In Envy Blog!
Todays challenge is: Make it manly. I always have such a hard time with guy cards, so this was a challenge for me! LOL!
I decided to use Echo Park's This & That Collection. I fussy cut the Whitlock Bay card off one of the papers, added a bobber sticker, stitching and also wrote my sentiment with a white gel pen on my black banner:

My Dad has a birthday this month, so this was a perfect challenge for me!

Remember, that for the Cards in Envy challenge, we only accept A2 cards (4.25"x5.5") that are relatively flat to fit in a first class envelope for regular postage.  That means no lumpy, bumpy cards.

If you play along with this challenge, be sure to link it up on the Cards In Envy Blog!

LGS
