Camping- Creative Embellishments

Hey there!
I don't know about you, but I am so ready for summer! Living in central Wisconsin, we get the snow and the cold. I like to scrap summer photos just to remind myself that it will soon be my favorite season again. I love the warm weather and being able to go outside without having to put boots, a jacket, hat and gloves on. Oh yeah, not to mention I'm a flip flop kind of girl.

Today I am sharing a layout I created for Creative Embellishments, using the Camping Set along with the Crackled Brick Stencil. I used an older Echo Park line along with the Best Glue Ever for this fun page:

To create my background texture, I used the Crackled Brick Stencil along with modeling paste. When it was dry, I added some watercolor. For my "Camping" title, I painted the chipboard with white acrylic paint and then added three different colors of ink to it. I love how it turned out!

I did the same technique with the campfire piece, but only using 2 colors of ink. It was super easy, since I popped the middle flame out before I started. Once it was dry, I placed it back in:

For the compass, I just took an ink pad to it:

I did the same with the tent, easy peasy and I love how it looks! I took a few different colors of brown ink and inked the lantern:

I added the same brown inks that I used on the lantern to this fun sign. Then I took a Sharpie and wrote the words on the arrows. The trees were fussy cut from a JilliBean paper:

I hope I have inspired you in some way today and if it's cold where you are, I hope I warmed you up a bit ;) Thanks for stopping by and stay scrappy!

Best Friends

Hey there!
Today I am sharing a layout I created over the weekend for a few challenges. I used American Crafts Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm and the Best Glue Ever for this page:

I tore a piece of red polka dotted vellum and used that as part of my background. I fussy cut a lot of flowers and leaves and layered those around my photo, popping some up with foam tape to add some dimension. I added a few word phrases from a Tim Holtz sticker book:

I added the word "Here", from Heidi Swapp, that I colored with watercolor:

For my title, I used Thickers. I love the gold "Best"! The "friends" Thickers I colored using Gelatos:

Here are the challenges:

1. February challenge at the 123 Challenge Blog:

2. Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge- use the word today. I used a Tim Holtz sticker.

Mixed Media cards

Hello!
Hope you had a great weekend!
Today I am sharing a few mixed media cards I created and have up over at ScraPerfect today.

Products used:

I created the backgrounds on both of these cards using a white piece of textured cardstock and added strips of paper and torn washi tape. I added a thin layer of Gesso. Once it was dry, I used a stencil and added light modeling paste. Finally, I added color with Gelatos and spray inks.
I found that with the mixed media background, that the Best Glue Ever works very well in gluing things down. I never have to worry about it coming off once it is totally dry.

I added the cards and embellishments and then matted that on black cardstock and then the white card bases that came with the Vintage Card Kit.

Products used:

Remember, when working with mixed media to grab some of the Best Glue Ever!
 I love this stuff!

Such a Fun Sketch!

Hey there scrappy friends!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
I am popping in real quick to share a layout I created using a sketch and challenge at Scrap Our Stash.  I always love when they have a word challenge. It makes me think outside my box!
I used Paper House All Star for this sports page:

I had stitched the triangles using black embroidery floss. I then added some watercolors using the packaging technique along with some black ink spatters. I fussy cut the baseball from one of the paper, inked and distressed it. The title I fussy cut from one of the cards and popped it up with foam:

I fussy cut the chevrons and stitched them in place. I also added a sticker using foam tape:

I added a few Fancy Pants cork stars and used a Zig marker to add the stitched lines:

Here is the sketch and challenge:

I used:
C- cork
U: underlined title (I used the chevron)
P- Paper House

Be My Valentine

Hey there!
We are having a snow day here today so that gave me some time this morning to finish up this layout that I started last weekend.
I used Fancy Pants Be Mine along with a cut file from the Silhouette store and the February mood board at Off The Rails.  I was inspired by all the hearts and the colors red, pink and grey.

I added lots of layers under my photo, including PL cards from Flutter, a tag, an envelope and tissue paper:

Here I added a flair, gold heart, a button and a fussy cut heart. I also added a phrase sticker and number stickers for the year:

I backed the hearts in the cut file with patterned papers. I love the look! Here I added some tangled thread, another flair and a button:

I created another small cluster up in the upper left corner of the cut file. I also added some splatters of Heidi Swapp gold Color Shine:

Here is the mood board:

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

High Fives

Happy Sunday!
Hope you are enjoying it! It's a beautiful day here in central Wisconsin- sunny and in the 40's! I had some scrappy time this morning so thought I would play with the February 15th sketch at Stuck?! I combined it with the Scrap Our Stash Tic Tac Toe challenge.  I used Paper House Productions All Star for this fun sports page:

I used a star cut file from the Silhouette store, cut it on white cardstock and backed it with patterned paper. I added some hand stitching using black embroidery floss and then painted the inside with grey watercolor and the outside using orange watercolor. Then I added some black spatters:

I added some enamel triangles and dots and a football sticker with foam behind it to add some dimension:

For my title, I used Paper House, Making Memories, October Afternoon and Fancy Pants alphas:

Here is the sketch and tic tac toe board:

I used a tag, enamel shapes/dots and a mixed alpha title.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

A Winter Card

Hello and happy Friday!
I am here today to show you my take on the card challenge over at ScraPerfect this month. The challenge was to use embossing and to stamp an image:

I used the Perfect Crafting Pouch and ran it over my cardstock that I was going to stamp my image on, which in this case was the snowflake and embossed cardstock. This makes for a clean, crisp look.

Next I added the Best Glue Ever to my stamp and spread it around using my finger. Next, I stamped on white cardstock. Finally I added glitter. I forgot to take pics of these 2 steps.

Next, I used the Best Glue Ever and the No Clog Writing Cap to add glue to the edge of the embossing on the card:

Then I sprinkled it with glitter:

I tapped the excess of and this is what it looks like:

Here's a close up of the snowflake and the glittered edge:

Lastly, I cleaned my stamp with the Best Cleaner Ever and then rinsed it off with warm water.

Hope you will join in on the challenge this month. I had a blast playing along!

The Nest

Hello!
Hope you are having a great week so far!
It's my day to post over on the Creative Embellishments Blog today and I wanted to share my layout here as well.
I used JilliBean Soup along with some fun chipboard pieces from Creative Embellishments.

As soon as I saw this chipboard nest, eggs and birds, I thought of these photos I had taken a few years back and thought they would be perfect to use with them!
I heat embossed the nest with brown embossing powder. The eggs I painted with acrylic paints.

I also used brown embossing powder and heat embossed these Chipboard alphas. I added some stickers and some stitching.

I used acrylic paints and Gelatos to color the bird. I added a bunch of fussy cut doilies and black mist spatters.

Here are the products I used:

Thanks for stopping by and stay scrappy my friends!
