Today

 Hey there!

It's my day up on the Bramble Fox blog today. Today I am sharing my take on the September challenge.
This month we have a sketch challenge for you and it's a fun one! I pretty much followed the sketch except I didn't add the "rays" of patterned paper. I used KaiserCraft Sea Breeze collection along with some beautiful perspextives from Bramble Fox for this page of Greg and I and some friends on our annual apple orchard trip:

I fussy cut flowers from one of the patterned papers and placed them under/around my photo. I added a tag from 7 Dots. I fussy cut the "awesome" label from the Paper Snips #001:

I added the Today persextive in black partially on top of my photo. I added a few heart stickers from the collection. I also added white acrylic paint spatters:

I used embroidery floss to hand stich the "sun rays". I added some of the Cool Stars along with some fussy cut leaves:

I loved the look of the branding strip on this patterned paper, so I decided to add it into my layout by creating a cluster at the bottom:

Here's the challenge:

I love how this page came out and I had a blast creating it!
Thanks for stopping by and I will see you again soon!

Vacation

 Hey there!

Today I am sharing my take on sketch # 534 by the very talented Bev Code at Sketches In Thyme. I used a Cricut cutfile and Pink Paislee Little Adventurer 6x6 paper pad for this fun travel page of Sierra and Felipe:

I added watercolor to my background and then added my cutfile on top. I machine stitched it to add some texture. I added an Airplane from Creative Embellishments that I heat embossed. I added a few layers of patterned papers behind my photos and fussy cut some flowers:

I heat embossed the Vacation chipboard piece and used that as my title:

I added a few fussy cut tickets, flowers and diecuts on top of the Creative Embellishments Globe that I heat embossed. I added a bow made from Black Taffy Twine on top of the tag:

Here is the sketch:

I hope you find some time to play along with all 4 of the sketches this month. SIT is now on Facebook so that is where you can find the albums to add your page to.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Detour to a Beautiful Day

Hey there everyone!
I am back to share another travel layout with you that I created for Creative Embellishments. This photo was taken when Greg and I were on vacation in Chatanooga back in March. I used a few goodies from the CE store along with Echo Park Little Dreamer -Boy for this page:

I added some torn strips of patterned papers to my white cardstock and then added some machine stitching. I colored the "Detour" chippie from the Travel Word Set 2 with ink and placed it above my photo. I used this as part of my title. I also added the bridge Geo Tag:

I added a few of  White Clouds:

I used some October Afternoon alphas along with the Beautiful Day chippie to finish off my title. I colored this with inks. I fussy cut a few cars, boats and the speech bubble from a few of the papers. I used a punch for my water and added the thin strips under my boats:

I added another Geo Tag at the bottom:

 Hey there friends!

Today I am sharing my take on case file #395 at CSI. I used lots of stash for this page about my home:

I added strips of torn papers from Pink Fresh to both sides of my page along with some machine stitching. I used some Simple Stories alpha stickers for the word "heart" and the black ampersand. I used chipboard monograms from Making Memories- these were all the rave shortly after I started scrapping. I colored them with 88 and Clear Nectar Stone Sugar Cube. Then I used 88 and Clear Black Taffy Sugar Cube and Creative Embellishments Distressed Text Stamp. Finally I added a bit of green Versa Color ink around the edges. I fussy cut the hearts and clouds from the PF papers:

I fussy cut the potted plants and leaves and also added a heart sticker and a flair from my stash:

I added a tassel from Pink Fresh, a globe from Simple Stories and a few diecuts from Pink Fresh:

I fussy cut the ouse from a Simple Stories paper and added a flair from Fancy pants and a few more fussy cut leaves and plants:

Camping Pretties

 Hey scrappy friends!

Today I am sharing a layout I created for 88 and Clear using the Stand Tall DigiNext collection along with some Creative Embellishments chipboard. I love decorating my campsite with signs and lights when we go camping and I love walking to see other campsites "pretties", so I decided to create a layout about this:

I added a strip of Sour Guava Sugar Stock and a piece of the leaves patterned papers from the Stand Tall collection. Since neither of the papers are 12" long, I cut them and added my photos in the middle.
I fussy cut the palm trees and flamingos from the Stand Tall collection.

I used the Creative Embellishments "Camping" chipboard word for part of my title. I added a few layers of white Gesso to it. For the blue on top, I mixed 2 drops of Sweet Blue Sugar Drops and 1 drop of Rich Blueberry Sugar Drops and used a paint brush to apply:

I added Sour Watermelon Sugar Stock behind my photos. I colored the lantern from Creative Embellishments  the same way as the "camping" above. I added some Tim Holtz word phrases cutting them in half to fit my page better. I also added a flamingo flair:

I used Hip Kit Club alphas for the rest of my title. I added some fussy cut flowers, leaves and a pineapple from the Stand Tall collection

I added an Oil Lamp from CE here and colored it with the Gesso and Sugar Drops. I used Sour Guava Sugar Drops to paint the flame in this one:

I really enjoyed creating this page and I love how it came out!
I hope I have inspired you in some way.
See ya soon!

Families Are Forever

Hello Scrappy friends!
Today I am sharing a layout I created for Creative Embellishments. I used lots of chipboard pieces from the CE store along with items from my stash on this layout of Greg and his siblings:

I added watercolors to my background. I used the words "brothers" and "sisters" from the Family Words and colored them with Glimmer Mist. I added the ampersand sticker from my stash:

I used a paper from JilliBean Soup to mat my photo. I colored the Leafy Tree with a few different inks and added that to the left side of my photo along with an acetate leaves branch and flowers from Hip Kit:

I colored the Families Are Forever chippie with Glimmer Mist and added it to my page adding craft foam on the back where needed:

To the right of my photo, I tucked in the tree frame from the Family ATC Frames. I colored this with the same inks as the Leafy Tree. I added a heart diecut, "Love This" and the enamel flower- all are from Hip Kit. I used a stamp for my date:

I really enjoyed creating this layout! I hope I have inspired you in some way. Thanks for stopping by and I will be back soon!

Graduation

 Hey there scrappy friends!

Have you seen the August case files yet at CSI

Here is my take on case file #394. I was inspired by the colors and school theme and used Simple Stories Smarty Pants along with stash for this page:

Austin graduated from Mid-State in May but chose not to participate in the ceremony. I wanted to document this important milestone, so I used the newspaper clipping with his name in it. I added some machine stitching to it. I fussy cut a few pencils, an arrow (which points to his name), and a piece of washi tape. I also added a plastic flower and some wood veneer hexagons from my stash:

I fussy cut the pocket and globe from one of the papers. I added in another plastic flower and tree from my stash along with a few cork trees from SpiegelMom Scraps:

I fussy cut the apple and shoe from the SS papers. I added a book plate from Making Memories that has been in my stash for many years. I also added that wood veneer with the light bulb thats been in my stash forever:

I had a blast creating this no photo page!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Brothers Make...

Hey there scrappy friends!
I am sharing a grungy guy layout with you that I created for Creative embellishments.
The photo is of my hubby, Greg and his brothers at a nephews wedding last summer. I used lots of CE goodies along with papers from my BoBunny stash:

I used the Crackled Brick Stencil to apply modeling paste to my background. Once it was dry, I added ink and watercolors. I added several layers of patterned papers under my photo, distressing and inking the edges. I took 2 of the Gear Wheel Spin chipboard pieces and created a border with them. It was a bit too long, so I carefully cut one of the small gears off one of them. This I placed on top. I used inks and Nuvo paste to color all the gears:

I popped the Archway Style 1 up with craft foam and placed that over the border. I colored it with inks as well:

Here's a close up of the Gear Wheel Spin on the right side. I added Becky Higgins PL chipboard stickers to the gear and photo. I also added in some Tim Holtz word phrase stickers:

For my title, I used the Brothers Make The Best of Friends. I colored it with inks. I also added some gears from the Gear Set 2 along with some Acrylic Mirror Gears in black. I added lots of Little Birdie flowers to finish my page off. Here you can see a close up of the stencil work:

As I was putting this page together, I wasn't liking it... I kept going and added more bits and pieces and I love how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me!
