A Little Counrty Boutique

Happy Thursday!!
Just wanted to share my design team projects for My Scraps & More using the lovely line Tammi sent us this month, Country Boutique by Fancy Pants Design.
Now, I have to admit, I wasn't exactly thrilled when I saw this line, I really enjoy more color. But, I thought, I can do this and was thinking wedding photos would go perfect. So I made a wedding card and that's where it all began, I fell in love with it!

Then, I decided to go out of my box and use it for a birthday layout:

And lastly, I used it for a photo frame and added a picture of my husband and kids in front of Ray Nitschke Field, where the Packers hold training camp:

Note: See the hearts in the layout above, they were fussy cut  from the back of the white washed paper I used on my frame, I just backed the holes with another patterned paper.

I used a tutorial by my friend, Ann, for my flowers:

Thanks for sharing your day with me!

Inspiration Elevator

You may recall from last month's challenge that the purpose of this challenge group was to take our scrapbooking to the next level, to stretch our creative process and to grow as artists by embracing challenges that make us think, work and grow.

This month our challenger was the very talented Laurel Seabrook. Laurel loves flea markets and garage sales and would love to incorporate more of those items into her art. In fact, we have invited a valued guest designer to join us this month; her name is Christy Riopel. We welcome, Christy from her regular writing and creating job at Canadian Scrapbooker magazine.

Here's a bit of what Laurel had to say in her challenge this month.

"I love going to garage sales, flea markets and thrift shops to find fun items for me to upcycle into something else either for my own home or to give as a gift. I also love just to pick up some old things that appear to have some sort of story to them. I love the shabbiness of old, worn items and the warm comforting feeling they evoke.

My challenge for you is to scrap an old photo/photos. Not only that I want you to incorporate something that is not normally a scrapping item, upcycle/recycle something to include on your layout. Vintage is definitely not my style when it comes to paper crafting. I like clean and simple so this will be a challenge for me."

For my layout I used a photo of my Grandmother holding my Mom.
When I think of vintage, I think of doilies and books, so I added an antique looking doily. Years ago, my husbands home town library had a book sale while we were visiting. I bought an old book just for using to scrap, so I added a page to my layout. The flowered photo mat beneath part of my photo is from an older package of Prima. I love recycling and I know I should do it more often while scrapping.
I used Echo Park This & That Collection and I also used a Kreaxions 3 in 1 Punch #905 for my border.
Here is my layout:

I hope you will stop by and see what the other designers on this adventure have created:

Happy Wednesday!

Hello and happy Wednesday!
The Back 2 School crop is still going on at the message board at My Scraps & More. There are 20 challenges and great prizes to win!
This was one of my layouts I created for a challenge over there. I used the Birthday Boy Mini Kit from Echo Park. The colors in this kit are fabulous, so bright and cheerful, perfect for the birthday boy!

I took 3 of the gift stickers, adhered them to cardstock and then tied twine around them to give the some dimension. I also printed my title and the $100 bill from my computer.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me! Keep scrapping!

My Scraps & More Post

Hello and happy Thursday! Just wanted to share a layout I made with the My Minds Eye Miss Caroline Collection. This collection is gorgeous, but which of there lines isn't? Can you tell, I'm a fan!?
This is a pic of some of my redneck family taking a ride in the back of the pickup truck while spending the weekend at my sisters cabin. We had a fun weekend, but it was warm!

Here is my layout:

We have a Back To School Crop starting this weekend on the message board.

Hope you'll join us for some fun and inspiration!

Have a great day!

A Just Imagine Layout

Hello and thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me!
Just wanted to share a layout I posted on the Just Imagine Blog yesterday. I created this layout with a photo of Austin  when he was in the NICU. I used the Circle Cutter for my circle, this tool sure makes circle cutting a breeze! No more digging out my bowls and lids :) I used the Kreaxions punch # 905 with no insert for the border. Then I took the negative piece, or fall away piece and used the opposite side of the patterned paper and added it to the top of the border. Looks like I used 2 different punches, but I didn't!
Brand New (1024x1024)

Hope you are enjoying your Labor Day weekend!
