Around The Campfire

 Hey there Scrappy Friends!

I have been scrapping for about 27 years now. I have so many scrapbooks and pages made. I am pretty much caught up. I have decided to take a break from scrapping at least for a little while so this will be my last post for CSI and on my blog. I want to thank Debbi at CSI for having me and letting me share my creativity over the years. Also, thanks to everyone who stops and reads my posts here on my blog.

Here is my last layout for CSI using case file #436. I was inspired by the colors and of coarse, the camping theme:

I used textured white cardstock for my background. I added Distressed Inks through the Tree Stencil and Cloud Border Stencil from Creative Embellishments. I tore a strip of patterned paper and cut a circle from patterned paper and stitched it to my background. I used Simple Stories and Echo park stash for this fun page.

I added my photo which I matted on patterned paper. Then I added lots of fussy cut items around it:

I added a torn strip of patterned paper to the bottom of my page and added a cluster of embellishments- some fussy cut and a sticker:

I fussy cut the banner from a Simple Stories paper and placed that under my photo. I machine stitched it in place:

Here is a quick look at the case file:

I was inspired by the colors and camping theme. For evidence, I used: plaid, woodgrain pattern, camping themed items, wood, watercolor, bird, animal, trees, leaves, camper, boat, signs, lantern, clouds and cursive font.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Camping

 Hello there Scrappy Friends!

Today I am sharing my take on sketch #614 at Sketches In Thyme. I used PhotoPlay Campfire and Echo park Summer Camp papers for this page of Greg camping in 2022:

I used white cardstock for the base of my page. I added strips of patterned papers, tearing some. I added some machine stitching. the "relax" is a sticker from PaperPlay. The alphas are chipboard from K & Company. Remember them? They have been in my stash forever! I fussy cut the deer and owl from a baby shower invitation. they worked perfect for this page:

I added the diecut journaling spot and popped up the "explore" sticker with foam to add dimension. Both are from PhotoPlay, I think.

I added a few more stickers here along with a diecut star and a few other fussy cut animals- the fox and the racoon. Aren't they cute?

The bear also was fussy cut. I added the "our spot" sticker from Simple Stories:

Here is the fun sketch by Shawn Stiles:

This will be my last layout for Sketches In Thyme. My heart hasn’t been into scrapbooking lately and I decided to step down and let someone who enjoys it as much as I used to take my place. I am hoping I can get beck into it again some day. Thanks for all your support over the years.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will play along with us!

King For A Day- CSI Birthday Layout

 Hello there friends!

Today I am sharing my take on case file #426 at CSI. I was inspired by the colors and birthday theme. I used Echo Park Magical Birthday and Birthday Boy for this page of Austin:

On my white textured cardstock background, I added texture paste through the Twinkle Star Stencil from Creative Embellishments. I tore strips of patterned papers and layered them on my page. I pleated the red one. Then I added some machine stitching. I heat embossed the Distressed Clock and tucked that under the left photo:

I added some stickers and the flair is from Fancy Pants:

I added some corrugated cardboard from Fancy Pants under my photos. I fussy cut the cake from one of the papers, popped it up with craft foam and added some gold tangled thread under it:

For my sub title, I wrote the word "Happy and #". I fussy cut the word "birthday". I finished the layout off with a Tim Holtz word phrase sticker (black) and a word phrase sticker from Bella Blvd (pink):

Advent Calendar #3

 Hi Everyone!

I had a blast creating the advent calendar book so much, that I created another one. I used 2 collections from Echo Park- My Favorite Winter & Winter Magic. I also used lots of Creative Embellishments chipboard. This book will be Austin's:

Here's a side view:

I added white acrylic paint to the larger piece of the Snowflake Page Corner Set. Then heat embossed with Sparkle Embossing Powder. It's hard to see in the photos, but it has glitter and sparkles. I also added 3 Chipboard Snowflakes that I colored the same as the title. I colored the Snowman with white acrylic paint and Nuvo Glitter marker:

I used the White Christmas for my title. I added a layer of white acrylic paint to it. Once that was dry, I colored it with a Nuvo Glitter marker. The upper right snow flake is a Chipboard Snowflake. The other two white ones came with the White Christmas title:

The book opens up to this- 24 boxes with goodies inside them. Plus on the 25th, there is a special surprise. I used the Snowflake Countdown set on the boxes. I colored these the same way- acrylic paint and heat embossed:

Here's a closer look at the left side:

And the right side:

I finished off the book with a few Frosted Blue Acrylic Snowflakes and some MAMBI chips:

I wrapped the special surprise on the 25th in tissue paper, added some ribbon and chipboard:

I hope I have inspirde you to create one of these books. They are so much fun!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

A Fun Advent Calendar

 Hey there Creative Friends!

Today I am sharing an advent calendar I created using patterned papers from Carta Bella, Echo Park and Recollections. I also used lots of Creative Embellishments chipboard and some of their acrylic pieces to decorate the individual boxes.

I used this video to create my advent calendar, but changed the spine part of it up a bit with things I learned creating prior mini albums.
On the cover, I used:
Tree Shaker (filled with Buttons Galore & More and glitter from my stash)

Here's a view of the spine:

A view of the book opening. I used ribbon from my stash to tie a bow and that holds the book shut:

A few close ups of the cover embellies:

This is what it looks like open:

There are 24 handmade boxes. I placed a Coffee/ Cocoa Mugs Countdown piece on each box. Here's the left side:

Here's the right side:

On some of the boxes, I added a bit more:
 #2 has a Jingle Bell

#10 has a Jingle Bell
#11 has a stocking sticker

#14 has a candy sticker

#16 has a mistletoe sticker

I used inks, Nuvo Glitter Marker, Sharpie and Stickles to color the chipboard pieces.
I had a blast creating this fun advent calendar and I am working on another one to possibly share with you soon.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
