Comfort & Joy: CSI

 Hi everyone!

Today I am sharing my take on case file #424 at CSI. I used a variety of manufacturers on this layout of Sierra opening her gifts last Christmas:

I added part of a Fancy Pants tag and an ornament on top of the page and fussy cut a circle from a Recollections paper. I added a diecut snowflake from Hip Kit:

I created a piece of candy on my background using watercolor and hand stitching with embroidery floss. I backed the large photo with a Mintay paper. I fussy cut a few more red circles from the Recollections paper. I added some fussy cut stars from a Mintay paper. I added that cute fox and a diecut snowflake from Hip Kit:

I used a scalloped edge punch on the pink Hip Kit paper and added a few pieces throughout my page. I added some fussy cut gifts cut from a Recollections paper. The gingerbread people were saved from something I received:

I fussy cut the house from a Recollections paper. I added the plate of goodies that I fussy cut from a Mintays paper. I also tucked in a puffy sticker from Hip Kit, the santa sticker from Fancy Pants and a miscellaneous gold diecut label:

I found this wood snowflake in my stash- it's been there for many years. I also added some Fancy Pants star puffy stickers:

Here's a quick look at the case file:

I was inspired by the candy and colors. For evidence, I used: dots, stripes, architectural elements, heart, candy, swirls, string, stars, sprinkle something, scallops, circles, wood, something sparkly and solid background. For my testimony, I documented something about Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Give Thanks

 Hey there Creative Friends!

Today I am sharing a Thanksgiving page with you. I'm not sure I have ever created a Thanksgiving page before. I just never think to take photos. Last year Felipe gave me 2 beautiful table runners he brought back from visiting his parents in Ecuador. This runner was perfect for our Thanksgiving celebration, so I decided to document it.
The background paper is from Amy Tangerine. The yellow is from My Minds Eye. Both of these have been in my stash for quite some time. The brown is from Echo Park. I also used lots of Creative Embellishments chipboard on this page:

I added the patterned papers to my background and then machine stitched them in place. I placed my photos.
For my title, I used acrylic paint to color the Give Thanks 2:

I used inks to color the "Gobble Gobble" from the Autumn Sentiments. I added 3 Tim Holtz word phrase stickers throughout my page that I cut into pieces:

I love this Happy Turkey Outline, isn't he the cutest? I colored him with acrylic paint and then highlighted him with inks:

Here are a few more words from the Autumn Sentiments that I added. The "gather" I colored with inks and the "Thanksgiving" I used acrylic paint. Check out the table runner, it's beautiful!

I colored the Pie Set with inks and acrylic paints. It looks so yummy!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

It's the Little Things In Life

 Hello Scrappy Friends!

Today I am sharing my take on case file #418 at CSI. I used a lot of Echo Park  (Anything Goes, The Simple Life, Day In The Life and Photo Freedom) along with items from my stash for this layout of my friend and I:

I decided to create a grid and use the 4 colors in the file, other than the white which is my background, as the base for each grid. Then I popped in a few of the other colors in each part. I used a Cloud 9 Designs stamp and ink to stamp the "Life is better when it is FUN":

I hand cut the tag, added a twine bow and tucked it under the green block. I added some machine stitching to each block. I fussy cut the butterfly and stitched through it:

I also used a stamp with navy ink and added the dots on the background. I punched the butterfly and red striped border. I added some buttons and Shimelle enamel hearts:

I fussy cut the banner and butterfly. I also tucked in another tag, Hip Kit and My Minds Eye enamel dots and button:

Here is a quick look at the case file:

I was inspired by the colors and friendship theme. For evidence, I used: stripes, floral, grid pattern, people, hearts, flowers, clips, buttons, stitching, circles, string, tags, enamel dots and borders.

Favorite April Fool's Day Laugh Ever

 Hey there scrappy friends!

Today I am sharing my take on case file #408 at CSI. I used lots of stash on this fun April Fool's Day layout of Austin:

I added strips of patterned papers from My Minds Eye Boy Crazy. I tore a piece of washi tape and added that under the yellow strip of paper. I added some stitching along with watercolors on my background. I fussy cut a few clouds from white cardstock and added some ink. The "what?!" diecut, label stickers and mustache stickers are from October Afternoon. I fussy cut a few fireworks from a PhotoPlay paper:

I used a Hip Kit Club pocket life card to hold my title. I fussy cut the "April" from another one. "Fools Day" are Cloud 9 alphas from my stash. I added a ticket and the "documented" chipboard piece from my stash as well:

I fussy cut the "Laugh" from a MME paper. The "Ever" I fussy cut as well. I am not sure who made that. I also added a few fussy cut stars, some doodling and the stitched starburst:

Here's a quick look at the case file.

Oopsy, Wrong Color

Hey there scrappy friends!

I am sharing my take on sketch #522 at Sketches In Thyme today. I used stash for this layout of Greg and I at the camper show in the camper we ordered back in February of 2018 (top photo)- Notice the colors. When it finally came in at the end of May, it was the wrong colors! Since we didn't want to wait another 3 months for the right color, we kept it (and they threw in the fireplace for free!)

I added watercolors to my background. I used Paper House In The Wild papers and added some stitching, leaving areas not stitched so I could tuck in a few tags from Simple Stories:

For my title, I used:
"Oopsy"- Authentique
"Wrong"- Thickers
"Color"- Little Yellow Bicycle

I added a few diecuts, popping some up on foam to add some dimension. I used an Amy Tan stamp for the date:

The "Not A" alphas are from My Minds Eye. I fussy cut the "Happy Camper" from one of the Simple Stories papers. I added the lady diecut from Simple Stories:

Here is the sketch:

I love using a sketch to jump start a layout. How about you?
Hope you will play along with us this month!

Halloween Decor

Hey there everyone! I can't believe it's October 1st already!

It's time for a new challenge at Creative Embellishments

This month, I was inspired by the trees, purple and black in the photo and decided to create a Halloween home decor piece using one of the Large Tags as my base. I added Modge Podge to it and then patterned papers from Fancy Pants October 31st, Rusty Pickle (remember them?), My Mind's Eye Lost & Found and Creative Imaginations.

I used acrylic paints to color the Creepy Trees and Happy Halloween. I added some sheer ribbon from my stash. I fussy cut the skulls from one of the papers:

I added stickers from Echo Park:

I used the tombstone, pumpkin, spiderweb and owl from Halloween Scene 2 and painted those with acrylic paints as well. I fussy cut the hat and placed it on the pumpkin:

Here is the inspiration photo and the challenge to go with it is to use stash:

I love how this turned out!
Hope you will play along with us this month as there is a gift certificate up for grabs!

You Are...

 Hey there!

I am sharing a layout that I created for case file #350 at CSI

I was inspired by the harlequins, guy, blue and dandelion. I used mostly My Mind's Eye Lost & Found 2 along with some Creative Embellishments chipboard & stamps and a few BoBunny stickers:

I used the Distressed Harlequin stamp and one of the Halftone Circle stamps from Creative Embellishments on my background and added some watercolor and paint spatters. I layered a few torn paper strips from MME and then added some machine stitching:

I placed the Berry Wreath from Creative Embellishments behind my photos and added a few layers of patterned papers. I used a butterfly stamp from my stash and stamped a few different ones then fussy cut them. The circle and flourish are stickers from an old BoBunny collection.

I added a few brads and fussy cut the you are... from one of the 6x6 papers. Finally I added a chipboard button with some Divine Twine:

I sometimes struggle with guy layouts but this one came together real fast and I love that I used lots of stash!
Hope you will check out the case file in the Facebook group and play along!
