Oopsy, Wrong Color

Hey there scrappy friends!

I am sharing my take on sketch #522 at Sketches In Thyme today. I used stash for this layout of Greg and I at the camper show in the camper we ordered back in February of 2018 (top photo)- Notice the colors. When it finally came in at the end of May, it was the wrong colors! Since we didn't want to wait another 3 months for the right color, we kept it (and they threw in the fireplace for free!)

I added watercolors to my background. I used Paper House In The Wild papers and added some stitching, leaving areas not stitched so I could tuck in a few tags from Simple Stories:

For my title, I used:
"Oopsy"- Authentique
"Wrong"- Thickers
"Color"- Little Yellow Bicycle

I added a few diecuts, popping some up on foam to add some dimension. I used an Amy Tan stamp for the date:

The "Not A" alphas are from My Minds Eye. I fussy cut the "Happy Camper" from one of the Simple Stories papers. I added the lady diecut from Simple Stories:

Here is the sketch:

I love using a sketch to jump start a layout. How about you?
Hope you will play along with us this month!

Easter Egg Hunt

 Hello!

Today I am sharing my layout that I created for CSI case file #385 using lots of stash:

I used the sun ray stencil from Heidi Swapp along with Distress Oxide Inks and October Afternoon mist splatters on my background. I used papers from Echo Park and Bella Blvd to layer around and under my photo. I used acrylic paints and mists to color the Easter Basket and Eggs from Creative Embellishments. I fussy cut the banner and bunny from the papers. the 2012 sticker is from JilliBean Soup. On the top of my photo, I added the "today" label from Pink Paislee

I believe the journal card is from JilliBean. I fussy cut the scalloped border, trees and butterflies from Echo Park papers. I added some Tim Holtz word phrase sticker:

For my title, I used these alphas: Hip Kit Club (pink), Cocoa vanilla (blue) and Autentique (yellow). I placed a word phrase sticker from JilliBean under the title. I used a JilliBean label under the "egg hunt" letters:

I love that I used all stash on this page and it still looks current!

This Place

Hey Scrappy Friends!

Have you seen the March case files at CSI yet? I am sharing my take on case file #382 using lots of bits and pieces from my stash:

I was inspired by the colors and kites in the case file. I took patterned paper scraps from Authentique, Pink Paislee and Fancy Pants and created my own kites. I added machine stitching to them, left thread tails and added an Amy Tan bow to a few. I used a title from Crate Paper Oasis:

I hand cut my sun, added some machine stitching and added the sun diecut from Dear Lizzie Star Gazer. I also added the Super SaturYay diecut and word phrase stickers from Dear Lizzie. I fussy cut the pinwheels from an Echo Park paper and added a piece of bling to each one:

I fussy cut the bikes from a Dear Lizzie paper, I think. I added some bling and some fussy cut clouds that I hand stitched:

This was such a fun layout to create and I love how it came out!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

He Calls Me Mama Llama

 Hey there scrappy friends!

Today I have a fun layout to share with you that I created for case file #351 at CSI using lots of stash. When my kids were younger they always called me mama llama. Here's my layout:

I added strips of patterned papers (orange stripe-Websters Pages, grey and teal are Cocoa vanilla)  to my background tearing the bottom 2 and backed my photo with paper from Authentique. I cut the "cool Kid" from a Cocoa Vanilla paper as well. I fussy cut the clouds from a Bella Blvd paper:

I cut the yellow pennant from a Teresa Collins paper and the orange is from Cocoa Vanilla. I added in a wood veneer from Cocoa Vanilla, chipboard pieces from Bella Blvd and some pom-pom trim from my stash:

I added gesso and pounced acrylic paint on these fun chipboard Llamas from Creative Embellishments. I also added in the Barbed Wire Border from Creative Embellishments that I sprayed with Heidi Swapp Color Shine:

For my title, I used alphas from Evalicious along with some Thickers. I added in some Tim Holtz word phrase stickers and a rub-on from my stash.

I had a blast creating this fun layout and I love how it came out!

Darling

 Hey there!

I am sharing a layout created for CSI using case file #345 using stash:

I created a heart stencil from cardstock and used the Distressed Text Stamp from Creative Embellishments and brown ink. Then I hand stitched around the heart. The word "darling' is a rub-on and the heart are  from Amy Tangerine. The "love you to pieces" sticker is from Evalicious. The ticket, frame and "Sweetheart" sticker is Fancy Pants:

Under the photo, I added a paper bag, a button and tag from Fancy Pants. I added a paper (yellow) from Carta Bella. The metal arrow clip is from Evalicious. I have had that dotted paper mesh in my stash for way too many years so I added a piece of that:

On the bottom, I added a few patterned papers from Webster Pages. I added a few postage stamps fussy cut from an Authentique paper

#Pandemic Lunches

Hey there friends!
I have a few layouts to share today. This first layout is for CSI using case file No. 330. I used a few old collections from Authentique for this layout about my staff and I serving grab and go lunches from March- mid June during the Covid 19 shutdown of school:

I did lots of fussy cutting flowers for this page. I added the  "shine"die cut along with a heart chipboard piece from Creative Embellishments. I colored the heart with a Nuvo Glitter marker:

I made a few pockets out of the text patterned stamp die cuts by hand stitching with embroidery floss. I added the coffee cup and cupcake chipboard pieces from the Everyday Icon Set from Creative Embellishments. I colored them with Nuvo Glitter markers. I fussy cut the pink coffee cup from a patterned paper from Pebbles Girl Squad:

I backed the photo on patterned paper and then popped it up with craft foam to give the layout some dimension. I added a quote and a few word die cuts under it:

I used the #Pandemic and colored it with the Nuvo Glitter Markers as well. I finished off my title with white foam Thickers:

I had a blast creating this layout and love how it came out!
Hope you find some time to play along with us this month. There are some great prizes up for grabs.

Door County

Hey everyone!
I am sharing a layout created for the July challenge at Creative Embellishments.
I used Authentique, Teresa Collins, Simple Stories word phrases and a cut file from Paper Issues for this fun page:

I used a variety of blues along with white and black for my layout. I added blue mists and watercolor to my white cardstock background. I backed the Paper Issues wave cut file with patterned papers using the Best Glue Ever from ScraPerfect. Then I stitched through the waves. Finally, I used the Twinkle Stamp on my background.

I added a few clouds from the Rainy Days wood veneer pack. I colored the clouds with white Gesso and then added some mist.  I colored a Nautical Life Preserver Ring with Gesso and mists. I created a nest with thread and placed a flair from the Nautical Set 1 on top:

I used the Nautical Anchor and another flair from the Nautical Set 1. I colored the chipboard with Gesso and then added a few mists to it. I created another nest of thread and placed the flair on top:
