Friends

 Hey there scrappy friends!

Today I am sharing a layout that I created for CSI using case file #420. I used a variety of manufacturers from my stash for this page of our fall camping group:

I used  a few different colors of cardstock for my background, stitching them together with brown thread. I added strips of patterned papers from Pink Paislee Memorandum and Crate Paper Craft Market. I also added some machine stitching to the strips of papers:

I added in some Hip Kit Club chipboard pieces and the title, friends, is also from Hip Kit:

I added some fussy cut images as well as some diecuts from Crate Paper and Pink Paislee:

I tucked in a few Hip Kit Club leaves, another chipboard piece, some diecuts and a cup from Jen Hatfield:

Here's a quick look at the case file:

I was inspired by the colors and autumn theme. For evidence, I used: text pattern, eyeglasses, typewriter, leaves, cup, flower, stars, ink splats and numbers.
I hope you will find some time to paly along with us this month! Thanks for                                                                  stopping by and have a great day!

Hello Summer

 Hello Scrappy Friends!

Today I am sharing my take on case file #413 at CSI. I used Crate Paper Oasis & Wild At Heart along with Echo Park Summer Fun for this page of me sitting by the ocean in South Padre Island:

I added watercolor to my white cardstock background. I fussy cut lots of leaves and flowers to create a wreath. I added a few palm trees from Creative Embellishments. I colored them with inks. I fussy cut the bird and popped him up with craft foam:

I fussy cut a pineapple and the word "sun". I added in the "our paradise" sticker on top of the left photo:

I added a few fussy cut flamingos, a few stickers and the "hello summer" ribbon. The "flip flops" is a chipboard piece from Creative Embellishments:

I fussy cut the swimsuit and the word "fun" and tucked those in too:

Here is the case file:

I was inspired by the colors, wreath, palm branches and flamingos. For evidence, I used: wonky dots (spatters), summer themed items, wreath as a page design, circles, flamingo, bird, palm trees, leaves, flowers, fruit (pineapple), pleating and cursive font (hello on ribbon). My testimony is to document something about summer.
Check out the CSI Facebook group to see the full case file and to submit your take on it.

A Mothers Love...

Hello there!
I am back to share a layout with you that I created for Creative Embellishments.  I rarely get pics of just my Mom and me together, so last Christmas I had my sister take a bunch of us. I originally bought the title piece to do a layout of my kids and I- I may get another one and do just that! Here's my Mom and me layout:

You probably can't tell because I covered most of it up, but I used a heart mask and used the Distressed Chevron Stamp and black ink to stamp on my background. Then I took the Starbust Stencil and added Distressed Oxide Ink through it. Finally, I added spatters. I added a frame, tags and stickers under and around my photo.  I colored the "A Mothers Love..." title piece with a black Sharpie and acrylic paints. I popped it up with craft foam:

I used Crate Paper and tucked in some of their embellies for this layout:

I added some gold string to my tags. I tucked in a few hearts and the pink and gold "love":

I colored the Mom Shaker 2 with the black Sharpie and the same paints. I filled the shaker with sequins from my stash:

I love how this page came out and will treasure it!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

This Place

Hey Scrappy Friends!

Have you seen the March case files at CSI yet? I am sharing my take on case file #382 using lots of bits and pieces from my stash:

I was inspired by the colors and kites in the case file. I took patterned paper scraps from Authentique, Pink Paislee and Fancy Pants and created my own kites. I added machine stitching to them, left thread tails and added an Amy Tan bow to a few. I used a title from Crate Paper Oasis:

I hand cut my sun, added some machine stitching and added the sun diecut from Dear Lizzie Star Gazer. I also added the Super SaturYay diecut and word phrase stickers from Dear Lizzie. I fussy cut the pinwheels from an Echo Park paper and added a piece of bling to each one:

I fussy cut the bikes from a Dear Lizzie paper, I think. I added some bling and some fussy cut clouds that I hand stitched:

This was such a fun layout to create and I love how it came out!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Best Day

 Hello friends!

Today I am sharing my take on case file #362 at CSI. This is a cold case- meaning use some stash. I used mostly Crate Papers Maggie Holmes Carousel collection for this page of Greg and I:

I used one of the papers as my background and then fussy cut the black and white striped papers and stitched them. I also fussy cut the yellow strips and stitched them. Then I layered bits and pieces, some from the Carousel collection and some from my stash. I added some wood buttons from Hip Kit and twine from Divine:

I fussy cut my title from one of the papers and placed it on the top of my photo in the white space. I added a white frame with gold, fussy cut flowers and the pink paint stripe was fussy cut from Echo Park Dreams paper:

I added a tag to both sides of my photo and used Divine Twine to add bows. I added some diecuts and an enamel heart:

Under the photo, I added another fussy cut flower bunch, a fussy cut banner and some bits and pieces at the bottom of the page:

This was such a fun page to create and I am so happy to do some stash busting!

Winter Banner

Hey there! I have a fun and cute winter banner that I created for Creative Embellishments to share with you today:

I used the Fishtail Pennant Banner and covered it with a layer of Modge Podge and patterned paper from the 6x8 paper pad of Snowflake collection by Crate Paper:

I added tags, stickers, diecuts and fussy cut snowflakes to the banner pieces:

I added a Chipboard Snowflake to each banner. I colored them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist:

I added lots of ribbon from my stash. This is a great way to use them up:

I used the word "Snow" from the Blizzard Word Set and added that to my first pennant. I colored it with Shimmerz and RG Dazzling Pat. I added a few punched snowflakes and also added some pearls and bling from Buttons Galore & More Fall Foliage Sparkletz:

I love how this banner came out! Now when I take my Christmas one down, I have a winter one to add in it's place.

Hello Winter

 Hey there friends!

I was asked by May at Buttons Galore and More to be a guest designer for December. Of coarse, I said yes!

I used Crate Paper Snowflakes for this page:

I started this page by painting the Snow Globe Shaker from Creative Embellishments with Gesso and acrylic paint. I added a few die cut trees and a fussy cut snowman to the inside of the shaker along with BoBunny Glitter Paste for the snow at the bottom of the shaker. Then I added Doo Dadz Polar Wind and snowflakes from Sparkletz December Dream. To finish off the outside of the snow globe, I added a few die cut snowflakes and a bow, from Hip Kit Club, along with trim and a snowflake button from 28 Lilac Lane- Snow Day:

I added Christmas Carnival Sparkletz to the center of  some chipboard snowflakes from my stash:

I used a diecut for my title. Check out that fox, isn't he just the cutest?! I used the Creative Embellishment Grunge Snowflake Stamp on my background and added Christmas Carnival Sparkletz to these as well:

I had a blast creating this fun winter page!

Us

 Hey friends!

Today I am sharing a layout created for CSI using cold case file #338. This is a stash busting challenge.

Here's my layout:

I used a lot of Crate Paper Close Knit collection for this page. The background paper & peach paper are from Robin's Nest. I rubbed Tim Holtz Distressed Ink (Antique Linen) on the background paper to distress it.

I used lots of chipboard and a few other embellies from the Close Knit collection. I used some old Jenni Bowlin alphas for my title.  (those have to be at least 20 years old?)

I added an Evalicious puffy sticker from my stash to my photo and added a fussy cut red flower and more chipboard embellies:

Check out the case file on the CSI Facebook page and play along with us this month. There are som fabulous prizes up for grabs!

The Little Things

Hey there friends!
I am sharing a layout created for Richard Garay Designs. I am loving all of their products, especially the inks! I used one of their stencils, Rotating Square, along with some modeling paste for the background on this layout:

I made watercolors from the ink pads just by dabbing some of the ink (Sweet Cane, Sweet Banana, Sweet Pink, and Sweet Blue Sugar Cubes) on plastic packaging and then spritzed with water. I added some of the watercolors on top of the modeling paste after it was dry:

I used the Filled Garden Stamp Set and stamped the outside of the flowers using Black Taffy Sugar Cube on Powdered Sugar Card Stock. I stamped the inside of the flowers using the same stamp set and these colors of Sugar Cubes: Sweet Banana, Sweet Pink, Sweet Blue and Tangy Apple for the leaves. Then I fussy cut them. I added a tag from Crate Paper Notes & Things and included a bow using Black Taffy Twine:

I added lots of fussy cut and stamped flowers. Aren't they gorgeous?! I added a few Crate Paper Bloom word stickers and June tag. I added in a few torn strips of washi tape- Orange is October Afternoon, blue gingham is Bella Blvd. and black & white stripe is Recollections:

I added a Crate Paper Bloom butterfly along with some tangled Black Taffy Twine:

I love how this layout came it! all those flowers are stunning!
