You may recall from last month's challenge that the purpose of this challenge group was to take our scrapbooking to the next level, to stretch our creative process and to grow as artists by embracing challenges that make us think, work and grow.  You can see last month's challenge on my blog here.
Since the start of a new year often prompts us  to look back and ahead, we thought we would do the same creatively. This month we were challenged to look back over the last year and share with you some of the designs that reflect some growth or success in our process.

This was a hard task to do since my creativity level has changed throughout the year. I have grown so much because of this IE group. These ladies are so talented and they have pushed and fueled my creativity! For this I am so thankful and I am looking forward to being pushed even more this year!

My first page I created for the December IE challenge, FEAR. This challenge really made me think about my fears, most of them are for my kids. Things have changed so much from when I was a kid... drugs, schools and all the bad people out there. It really made me think about the world we live in. I know that amoungst all of the bad, there is so much good and I hope and pray that the way I am raising my kids, they will only see the good side. I added some stamping to my layout because I fear that and don't do it as often as I should:

My second layout I did for a color challenge at MSW. I usually struggle with color challenges and this one was no exception! I had to dig REALLY deep into my stash to find these papers, they are really old! I am so glad I found these as they almost went in the recycle bin years ago! I love how this one turned out!

This 3rd layout was also created for an IE challenge. The topic was a belief or value. I Believe in being honest and hate when I am lied to, so that's why I made this layout. I love the long title and also because it's a layout about who I am.

My 4th layout was created for a sketch challenge at My Scraps & More. The sketch was pretty simple and I wanted the layout to focus on my son playing in the lake, so I kept it simple as well.

Layout 5 was created for my challenge here at IE. My challenge was to use an imperfect photo or 2. Normally we as scrapbookers, use only the perfect photos, but I wanted to tell the story that normally would not have been told.  This layout has pics of my kids on the escalator at Lambeau Field. They didn't care about the home of the Packers, they just wanted to ride the escalator! LOL!

My 6th layout is a self portrait of my daughter. I have a hard time with background papers that have something printed on them, like these banners. So I challenged myself to use it and added lots of layers and distressing.

I picked  layout 7 as one of my favs because I have the hardest time scrapping with purple. I feared adding the purple paint to my paper edges thinking I may screw it up, but I love the look!

Layout #8 was created using a sketch, but can't remember who's it was. The sketch was also combined with a challenge to recycle. This was right up my alley as I so believe in recycling! I used a plastic piece from packaging, added some mist and place it behind my photo. I also used the negatives from a few stickers and used it behind my title and date.

My 8th layout is of our dog, Bender. He loves the snow! I choose this layout because I love the painted and inked title letters and this is a totally me layout with lots of stitching!

I choose this layout for my last choice because it's not often that I use a photo from a phone, but I love this one my daughter and her friends took at school! I also have been pushing myself to leave more white space on my layouts.

I hope you will take the time to see what my Inspiration Elevator team mates chose as they reflected on this challenge.
