Celebrate

Hey there Scrappy Friends!
Happy New Year! Are you going out?
We decided to stay in and I am cooking steak and shrimp, yum!
I had some scrappy time this morning and played with the December My Creative Scrapbook sketch.
I used Simple Stories for this layout of my Mom's 80th birthday celebration:

I used watercolors and the packaging technique for my background.
I added a few frames, stickers, a cut file  and fussy cut a banner and the stars:

I love this cut pole banner die cut and just had to use it! I added layers of papers and a few other die cuts here as well:

The balloons and stars were fussy cut. I added some white circles and stars that were leftover from another cut file I previously had cut. Here I added a punched border too:

Here is the fun sketch:

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a safe, fun and healthy New Year!

Grow

Hello there!
I am sharing a layout I that I have up on the Sketches In Thyme Blog today.
I used Bella Blvd. Faith and added some Lawn Fawn sequins to this graduation layout of Sierra:

For my background, I used a cut file from the Silhouette Store and cut it on my Cameo. I also added some watercolors.

I just love the fun, bright colors in this collection! I fussy cut the flower cluster from one of the papers and combined it with that chipboard flower and some sequins:

Here I added some chipboard pieces, stitching and more sequins:

This piece from the diecut pack was perfect for a graduation page:

Taco Tuesday

Hey there!
Today I am sharing a layout I created for the December 1st sketch challenge at Stuck?! and the book inspired stash challenge over at Scrap Our Stash.

I cut a star cut file from the Silhouette store and colored it green using watercolors. I added yellow watercolor to my background using the packaging technique. Finally I stitched my star on and added some black mist spatters.

I used a Clique kit for this page about Sierra's last day of working a "Taco Tuesday" before she heads off to college. I added some tangled thread and then added a flair on top.

I love that green arrow clip! I also added a few tags and a clear yellow acetate " Photograph" word.

Here I added some more tangled thread and a Pink Paislee Rubber Charm.

Here is the sketch:

and the book inspired challenge:

I was inspired by the yellow, green, white and black and also the stripes.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

ScraPerfect Card

Hey there Scrappy Friends!
I have a tutorial up on the ScraPerfect blog today to share a simple way to add ribbon to your card, layout or any craft project. I struggled to find the right adhesive for all widths of ribbon until now... ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever, is really the best adhesive ever, in my eyes! I have tried the red double sided tape, sure it works for larger width ribbon, but what about this ribbon and ric rac? I used to cut it down to the width I needed, after finally getting it unstuck from my scissors I would struggle to get it where I wanted it. I was so frustrated! Please check out my tutorial over on the ScraPerfect Blog and let me know what you think!

The more I work with ScraPerfect products, the more I love them!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Christmas Cheer

Hey there!
Today I am sharing with you my final post for Paper House Productions.
I would like to thank everyone at Paper House for having me this last year. I truly enjoyed working with their fun products!

Have you scrapped your Christmas photos from last year? Today I am sharing a Christmas layout that I used photos on from last Christmas. I figured it was time to get some of these scrapped.

Christmas Cheer Layout Supplies:
I fussy cut the circle with the holly and berries on it and used pearl dots from my stash for the berries. I also fussy cut that cute squirrel and popped him up with foam tape.

I choose the background paper because it matched the wood walls in the photos. I cut 2 of the 4x6" cards and used those to balance my layout. One I used for the matting of the photos and the other for my journaling.

I fussy cut the tree, house (love all that glitter!) and all the snowflakes (more glitter!) I added some bling to the centers on the snowflakes. I fell in love with the adorable fox on this 4x6" card! Isn't he just the cutest?! Finally I added some of the Sculpted Stickers and a few of the Cardstock Stickers.

So what are you waiting for? Dig out those Christmas photos and start scrapping!

Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season!

Hey there!
It's the third Monday of the month, that means a new challenge over at Cards In Envy. Today's challenge is:

Create a card to celebrate the season--any holiday that is celebrated this time of the year!
I used a 6x6 paper pad by Recollections and came up with this cute card:

I just fussy cut the 3 craft rectangles, layered a few papers and added some stitching and a small banner. Easy peasy!
Hope you will play along with us this month!

November Project 12 Layout

Hello!
Winter has finally arrived here in Wisconsin- it's so dang cold and yes, we finally have snow!
Today I am sharing my November Project 12 layout and sketch for Creative Inspiration. As you can see in the photos, we don't have any snow. We had a dusting on opening day deer hunting, but that melted with the unusual warm weather we had.
I used a variety of items on this page- Paper House Productions papers, Fancy Pants embellies and Basic Grey alphas.

I used my Cameo to cut a large snowflake from the Silhouette store and then cut some smaller ones for my border on the right side. I hand stitched around the large one with embroidery floss.

Of coarse, I added some watercolor to my background. I added some wood veneer and stitched through the Basic Grey alphas.

I added a chipboard heart that I painted and also added a few stickers.

Here you can see my snowflake border.

Here is a close up of the title.

Here is my sketch:

Thanks for stopping by and stay warm!

Can I Get A Whoop?!!!!

Hello!
I have some exciting news to share today! I have been asked to join the Creative Embellishments Design Team!!!! I am over the moon excited to be joining this fabulous group of talented ladies!
Today I am sharing a layout I created specifically for the design team call.
I used a fall line from AC along with some Creative Embellishment chipboard, wood veneer and two of their stamps for this layout of my hubby, kids and I:

I used watercolor and the packaging technique for my background. Once it was dry, I used the Circles Stamp and distressed ink and stamped that on the background. I  stamped again using black ink and the Distressed Text Stamp. Finally I added some paint spatters.

I used the chipboard word "Family" from the Celebrate Word Set, added Gesso and a few different colors of mists.

Here are just a few of the fabulous wood veneer they have.

I also added Gesso and mists to these cute chipboard leaves from the Autumn Leaves Set

Finally I added some stickers, diecuts, brads and tangled thread.

I love how this turned out!

I hope you will follow the Creative Embellishment Blog if you aren't already and check out the fabulous work the design team does over there!

Lake Life

Hey there!
I am back to share a layout using some Paper House goodies.
I love creating summer layouts in the midst of our cold Wisconsin winters. It sorta warms me up seeing my daughter in shorts, t-shirt and standing by the lake.

  lake-life

Lake Life Supplies:
This was a fairly simple layout to put together, I liked that! I started with white cardstock as my background and added some different shades of blues using my watercolors. I fussy cut the mountains and lake from a sheet of paper in the paper pad and attached that to my background. I distressed the top of the mountains to give some dimension to them. I added 3 of the #D Stickers to create a fun and easy title:
  lake-life-close-up-1

I fussy cut the tree and leaves from a few different papers from the paper pad. I also added the "Calm" 3D sticker:

I love the 3D canoe and it was perfect for this lake layout:

Hopefully if the weather is cold where you are, this layout warmed you up a bit! Dig out some summer photos and scrap them!
 Have a great day!

Something Sweet

Hey there!
Today's challenge up at Cards In Envy is to use something sweet on your card. This could be a cake, candy, teddy bear, anything sweet!
I used a cupcake for my sweet thing on this birthday card:

I used Simple Stories Happy Day. If you are wondering, yes, I am still trying to use my stash!

Thanks and stay scrappy!

Together

Hey there!
Today I am sharing a layout I created for the December 1st challenge over at ScraPerfect.
The challenge is to create your own border and add some handwriting to your project.

I used Simple Stories for this fun page of Greg and the kids:

I used watercolor on white cardstock for my background. I used the Leaf It To Me cut file from The Cut Shoppe  and cut some leaves from my Cameo. Before taking them off the mat, I added some watercolor. I was kind of skeptical at first about doing this, but thought I would try since I have seen other scrappers doing it. I was surprised that it didn't hurt my cutting mat! I definitely will be doing this more often.

I used The Best Glue Ever to put this layout together. The No Clog Writing Cap was perfect for adding glue to the small spots on the leaves. I love all the texture these leaves give to this layout!

I added some machine stitching in brown to create a frame around my photo. I used a bingo card for part of my subtitle. I hand wrote the words "weekend at" and then some October Afternoon mini alphas.

I fussy cut the title from a 4x6" card and popped some of it up with foam tape. I also fussy cut the trees.

Stop on over to the ScraPerfect Blog to check out the challenge and play along!
