My Super Hero

Happy Monday!
I am headed into work today for awhile, so thought I would quick pop in and share a layout I created last week using the CSI Challenge Blog June challenge and some old October Afternoon.

These photos of Austin are from 2010. We were in Reno visiting Greg's sister and went to this town, I think it was Carson City, but I'm not sure.

I added the fussy cut "Zap" along with some diecuts and a sticker:

I fussy cut the word "my" from one of the patterned papers and combined it with October Afternoon mini alphas ad larger alphas for the title. I added some sequins from my stash:

I have been eyeing their challenges for quite some time, but was afraid to try one. I am glad I did, I like how this came out!

Here is the case file:

Evidence: white background, speech bubbles, starbursts, stars.
Testimony: Journal in a speech bubble and inspiration words.
Enjoy your day!

Using Stash

Hey there!
Hope you are enjoying the weekend!
I am sharing an Easter layout I created earlier this week using some old JilliBean Soup and a Paper Issues Sketch.

I fussy cut the bunnies from one of the papers and added a few paper buttons and diecuts:

Here is another fussy cut bunny and another diecut. I added some tangled thread between the layers of papers behind my photo. This gives texture and pops of color:

Here is a close up of my title. I used diecuts to create this cluster:

Enjoy your day!

Be Kind...

Hey there! Happy Friday!
Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? Greg is on call, so that means we will be hanging around the house. That means scrappy time for me!
Yesterday I played with a Paper Issues quote challenge and combined that with the June challenge at 123 Challenge Blog .
Here is what I came up with using the February Hip Kit Club kit:

I added watercolor to my background using the packaging technique then added some spatters.
I fussy cut a few butterflies and punched some scalloped circles and added those throughout my layout.

I used a Paper Issues free cutfile that has been sitting on my desk. I cut it out quite awhile back and used the negative piece for another layout.  Anywho, I glued it to my page and then added stitching through it. I love the white on white look!

I added some bling to the butterflies and scallop circle:

I fussy cut  that cute swan and then added bling to the bottom of my photo:

I love how this came out! And will definitely be doing the white on white again!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Love Card

Hey there!
Popping in real quick today to share a card I created using the Sunday card sketch at Creative Inspiration and the June challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge Blog.
I used Paper House Productions Wedding Day papers and some of their 3D embellies for this wedding card:

I kept the card fairly simple because the papers and embellies are just gorgeous that it didn't need anything else.

Thanks for stopping by and have a scrappy day!

You're The Man

Hey there!
Today I am sharing my card for the new challenge that was posted at Cards In Envy- You're the Man. The challenge is to create a guy card- any theme.
Since Father's Day is coming soon, I decided to create a Father's Day card for my dad. I used Jack & Jill from Echo Park:

Check out the Cards In Envy blog to see what the rest of the design team did for this challenge. We would love to have you play along!

The Love of Baseball

Hello!
It's my day up on the  Creative Embellishment blog today.
I am sharing a baseball page of Austin.
When I saw "The Love of Baseball" chippy in the store, I knew I had to have it! I have lots of baseball pictures of my son to scrap and this chippy was perfect for a title!

I started my layout by adding some watercolor to my background using the packaging technique. Then I added some spatters. Here's a close up of my title. For "The Love of" I used an orange Nuvo Glitter Marker to color it. Once it was dry, I added orange Gelato and a bit of water and rubbed using my finger.

I colored the "Baseball" with a black Sharpie. For the bats, I used a lime green Gelato for the handles and a silver Nuvo Glitter Marker for the rest of it. For the baseball, I colored it with a white Gelato and then used a red marker to run along the stitching.

I added a few cluster of the Stars Wood Veneer and loved the look of them plain.

I added Diamonds  chipboard to the base of my page. They were colored with a black Sharpie. Then I backed them with some Paper House Productions papers using The Best Glue Ever.  I love using this glue on mixed media pages!

Finally, I added a small Wood Veneer Baseball along with a sticker to the corner of my photo.

I hope I have inspired you to scrap those sports photos. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

You Make My Heart Sing

Hello!
There is a new sketch up at Stuck?! Sketches today! I love Laura's sketches and this is another fabulous one!
I used Cocoa Vanilla Wild Heart along with some SpiegelMom's sequins for this layout of Sierra and I:

I fussy cut some flowers from one of the papers. I love this chipboard piece- "You make my heart sing"

I added a tag I hand cut, added some twine, another piece of chipboard and some spatters:

More fussy cut flowers and a fussy cut butterfly:

Another hand cut tag, fussy cut butterfly and a rubber charm:

Fishing

Hey there!
It's the first of the month, that means a new challenge is up at Creative Embellishments!
Here is the page I created for it:

Here are some close ups:

Here is the inspiration photo:

I was inspired by the colors, fish and anchor in the photo. For my background, I added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink through the Crackled Brick Stencil. Then I stamped with black ink using the Distressed Text Stamp. To both sides of my photo, I added Seaweed 2. I used colored texture paste and a paintbrush to coat the chippies. Then I added some mist spatters. I colored the 3 green  Tropical Fish this way as well. The Tropical Fish to the left of the photo, I painted with a coat of Gesso and then added the same mist spatters. Finally to the left of the photo, I added a Nautical Anchor. I added brown and silver embossing powders and used my heat gun on it. I finished it off with the same mist spatters. I added a Nautical Compass to the upper right corner and trimmed off some. That piece I added to the lower left corner. The Nautical Compass was colored with a variety of items- embossing powders, inks and mists. I finished off my layout by adding a flair from the Nautical Set 1.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
