Our main purpose here at IE is to challenge ourselves, each other and YOU to take the creative process to the next level; to inspire growth and change in our scrapbooking; to stretch, sometimes uncomfortably, to create something fresh.
You can see all of Inspiration Elevator's previous challenges at our blog and catch us on Facebook too.
We are thrilled to welcome back as guest designer, the delightful Denise Morrison. Denise's artsy style conveys layers of artistic and emotional significance, and we love her artful scribbles!
We are also honoured to welcome a guest challenger this month, team alumni, creative and busy Sue Sykes, a regular contributor to Canadian Scrapbooker magazine and manager of their sketch site. Here is her challenge for us, in her own words:
We all know that the contents of our bags, whether it's a handbag, a satchel, a clutch or a backpack, reveals a lot about ourselves. This month, create a layout about the contents of your bag on any given day. Be sure to include the stories behind any unconventional items.
As a further challenge, use one of the items on your page somehow!
I himed and hawed for a long time on this challenge. I mean, my purse just doesn't have anything exciting in it! LOL! Then it hit me the other day, how many people carry around a candy bar, or on this day, a partially eaten candy bar in their purse? That was it, that's how this layout came to be, thank God, I saved that candy bar for this rainy day!
I used a stencil (it reminded me of the pattern in my purse) and modeling paste. Once dry, I added some watercolors and that wasn't quite enough OOMP, so I added some Mr. Huey Mist. I printed the candy bar off the internet and used a few patterned papers by American Crafts:
Here are a few close ups:
Here's a complete list of this month's participating designers! We encourage you to check out each designer's creation this month, then come on back and give the challenge a try yourself!
