Family

Hello Scrappy Friends!
Today I am sharing a layout I created for Sketches In Thyme.
I used the March Hip Kit Club kit for this layout:

I created the fun colored circles by adding Distress Oxide Inks and mists to a piece of white cardstock. When it was dry, I used different sizes of circle punches to punch circles. I used gold thread to add some machine stitching. I used a chipboard Thicker for my title:

I fussy cut 3 of these beautiful butterflies from one of the papers in the kit. I added some diecuts and stickers:

I layered a few papers behind my photos along with a layer of tissue paper and then added stickers and diecuts for more layers:

Here is the sketch:

Bundle of Joy

Hey there!
Another post for me today! I had some scrappy time this morning and pulled out the Bundle of Joy collection from Crate Paper and decided to make a few baby cards.
For my first card, I used the "Hung out to dry" challenge at Inspired By and came up with this card:

I fussy cut the birds, basket and flower from the papers. I added some wood veneer colored with mists. I added some yellow tulle behind the "bundle of Joy" sticker.

Here's the inspiration:

I used the same collection for my second card along with a sketch from The Rubber Buggy and came up with this card:

I fussy cut the flower and tag. I added a few stickers and some ribbon.
Here's the sketch:

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

He's So Fine

Hello Scrappy Friends!
I am back today to share another layout from yesterday's scrappy time.
I played along with the Opening Day challenge at Paper Issues and I used a sketch from The Rubber Buggy.
I created my background using the packaging technique with watercolors. When it was dry, I used a stamp from Creative Embellishments and stamped it using black ink. I sprayed my stamp with water and stamped again. I love the result and will be trying it again. It's more of a watercolor look!

I used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe and backed the stars with paper from Paper House. I added a few Creative Embellishments chipboard stars and wood veneer baseballs and left them as is because I loved the look:

I added a few strips of paper from Paper House behind the photo and added some zigzag stitching:

I added a few more chipboard pieces from Creative Embellishments- #FUN and my title- He's So Fine. I added Gesso to both of these. When it was dry, I added orange ink, orange Gelato and finally red Gelato to achieve the color I was looking for. I fussy cut the speech bubbles from a Bella Blvd. paper:

In the upper left corner, I added a few patterned papers, stitching, another chipboard star, wood veneer baseball and a speech bubble:

Here's the sketch:

I really enjoyed getting messy with this layout! It was so fun to create!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Cousins

Hey there!
It's a beautiful day here in Wisconsin! I have been scrapping and thought I would share one of the layouts I created.
I used a photo of Austin and a few of his cousins at another cousins wedding about a year and half ago. I dug in my stash and grabbed That's My Boy collection from Echo park and added some Creative Embellishments wood veneer and chipboard to it.
I am playing along with the April Creative Embellishments challenge, Scrap Our Stash Golden Globe challenge and Scrap The Boys Let's Go Geo challenge.

I used chipboard triangles from Creative Embellishments and colored them black with a Sharpie. I backed them with patterned papers from Echo park and placed them on my watercolor background. I fussy cut a few hot air balloons from another Echo Park collection. I added a label and a sticker popped up with foam:

I did use a Tim Holtz stencil on my background and added modeling paste through it before I added the watercolors. When they were dry, I outlined the diamonds lightly with a marker. I added a few more stickers and my fav washi tape. I added a bit of machine stitching over my title:

I colored the clouds with a Gelato and added another fun hot air balloon here:

Here is the inspiration photo from Creative Embellishments:

The Golden Globe challenge at Scrap Our Stash:

This was such a fun layout to create and I love how it turned out!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day! I am off to enjoy the weather!

Distress Oxide Ink Card

Hello again!
Today I am sharing a card I have up over on the Off The Rails Blog. There's a tutorial for a technique with it, so I hope you will check out my post over there.
With Austin graduating this year, we will be going to lots of graduation parties so I wanted to get a little bit of a head start on some cards.

I used heat embossing and Distress Oxide Inks on my card. I had a blast playing with them! Please go check out my tutorial.

Bloom & Grow

Hey there!
We are finally dug out after the almost 20" of snow over the weekend. No school yesterday meant some extra scrappy time for me!
I played along with the CSI case file No 252. I used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe along with a mixture of papers from Amy Tan's  Rise & Shine, Stitched, Cut & Paste and  Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm and a paper from Shimelle. I have to admit, The color combo of the case file scared me a bit. I don't use the colors black and yellow by themselves because it reminds me of a bumblebee. I do love how this page turned out, so you may be seeing it more often, LOL!

I backed the flowers of the cut file with all different yellow papers. I added some enamel dots to the centers of the flowers. These are from Simple Stories and Cocoa Vanilla. I added in 3 flair buttons from Darcie Heater Designs. These have been in my stash for at least a few years.

I hand stitched the title with embroidery floss. I love how it looks!
I fussy cut a mason jar, punched a circle, added another flair and then finished this cluster off with a Simple Stories phrase sticker. I added some black machine stitching under the title and then fussy cut the small yellow flowers:

I added a few layers of paper behind my photo and then added some washi tape, I think it is from Michaels. I added a fussy cut flower, tangled thread, fussy cut hearts and another flair:

This layout took me almost a day to do, but it kept me busy during the blizzard! and I love how it came out!

A Mixed Media Tag

Hey there scrappy friends!
I have my first post for Whisker Graphics and I am beyond excited to join this talented group!
I created a mixed media tag for my first project:

I started with a Large White Tag and used a Creative Embellishment stencil to add some Light Molding Paste with a spatula:

Once I finished, I removed the stencil and this is how the tag looked:

I colored some Creative Embellishments chipboard words and wood veneer stars with Nuvo Glitter Markers and let them dry:

Once the molding paste was dry on the tag, I sprayed it with a variety of blue, green and silver mists and then sprayed it with a little water to mix it:

I dabbed it with paper towel to soak some of the liquid up, dried with my heat gun, and this was the result:

Finally, I added some black ink through another stencil:

I also used mist to color this Sweet Sticky Label and added it to the tag:

I took some Divine Twine in green and wrapped it around the bottom of my tag and tied it in a knot. Then I mixed these Divine Twine colors: Green solid, Green Apple, Blueberry and Navy and looped them to the top of the tag:

My son is graduating from high school soon and we are invited to many graduation parties. This will be perfect to add to a graduation gift!

Birthday Card

Hey there!
Happy Monday!
There's a new challenge up at Cards In Envy today. The challenge is: It's Birthday Party Time- create a birthday card.
I used Simple Stories Let's party for this fun birthday card:

I loved that sentiment when I saw it and just had to use it!
Hope you will take some time and play along with us!

Day of Caring

Hello!
Hope you are having a fantastic weekend!
Every fall, the school participates in the day of caring. Students volunteer to rake the elderly's yards in the community. Austin has participated all 4 years of high school.
I used an old BoBunny line for this layout along with a Creative Inspiration sketch:

I added some watercolor to my background.
I added some dimension to my page by popping stickers up with foam:

I used alpha stickers from the collection for my title:

Head on over to Creative Inspiration to check out Bev's sketch and play along!

Soul Sisters

Hey there!
I have a layout up on the ScraPerfect Blog today and wanted to share it here as well.
I am sharing an easy way to add twine to your project. The easiest way I have found is using ScraPerfect's Best Glue Ever along with the No-Clog Writing Cap.
I used Pebbles Girls Squad for this layout of Sierra and a few friends.
Here is my layout:

Lay your twine where you want it on your layout. Put the No Clog Writing Cap that is attached to the bottle of the Best Glue Ever on the layout where you want to adhere the twine. Add a small thin dot of glue.

Place the twine on top. Easy Peasy!

The glue dries clear so you won't notice it if you add too much. But remember, a little bit goes along way. Here are a few close ups:

I also used the Best Glue Ever to adhere my embellies on this page.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with us!

Mama Llama

Hey there!
I am sharing a layout I created for case file #251 at CSI.
I used the January Hip Kit Club Kit along with the Rosey Posey cut file from The Cut Shoppe for this layout about me:

I added watercolor to my background. Then fussy cut the frame and cut it in half. I added a few layers of patterned paper under my photo and placed the frame under that. I used the fun Thickers to create my title. I fussy cut the tag from one of the papers and added some of the flower diecuts:

You can see the beautiful cut file here. I cut on white cardstock and then used watercolors and Gelatos to add some color to it. The lighter llama was fussy cut from one of the papers and the other one was fussy cut from a Paper Issues card:

I have been meaning to do this layout for some time and when I saw  the llama in the kit, I knew it was perfect for this story!

Here is the case file:

I was inspired by the llama and colors. I used a solid background, llama and flowers for evidence.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Miss You

Hello!
I am back today to share a card I created using today's card sketch at Creative Inspiration.
I used Webster Pages Citrus Squeeze for this fun card:

Besides the background and doily, all of the items on here were all fussy cut from the papers. For my sentiment, I added an SRM sticker.
These were all items from my stash. It feels so good to use them!
Run on over to Creative Inspiration and check out the sketch!
