Matchbook Mini Tutorial

Hey there scrappy friends!
It's my day to post the Got Talent challenge over on the My Scraps & More message board. This is the second week, so there is lots of time to play along yet! There will be a new challenge posted every Friday through the summer.
My challenge is to create a layout and add a mini album on it.
It's been awhile since I made a matchbook mini album. I love them! They are a perfect way to add lots of photos to one page.
Here is my layout using Amy Tangerine Plus One and Bella Blvd. Enamel DooDads and a fussy cut camera:

The tutorial to make a matchbook mini album for wallet sized photos:

Cut a piece of cardstock 6 1/4"x 3 1/2"
Score at 2 5/16", 2 7/16" and 5 5/16". It should look like this:

Use eyelet setter and create 2 small holes on the bottom of the matchbook flap. I believe mine are 1/8". I put them at 1 5/16" and 2 3/16". You can add eyelets here, but it's not necessary.

Add patterned paper to front flap and stitch if desired. add a ribbon through the two holes and tie. Add photos. I added 10 and staple on both sides of eyelets.

adhere to your layout.
Here is a close up of mine:

I would love to see your take on this challenge. If you play along, share on the Flickr gallery at My Scraps & More or leave me a link here.

Forever

Hello! Happy Monday!
Just wanted to share a layout I created with Robin's Nest goodies and posted on their blog yesterday.
I used a photo of DH and I on our wedding day we found last summer at my MIL's house after she passed away.  DH and I will celebrate 19 years in a few weeks, so I figured it was a perfect time to scrap this photo.

I used Saffron Sunrise Cardstock for my background. I added a doily. I matted my photo on white and then black cardstock. Then I took the Scribbled Heart Frame from Gina's Designs and covered it in Gesso. Once it was dry I added watercolors to it. I wrapped the silver straw from Azure Straw around the frame. I also added a bow from the Saffron Ribbon collection:

I fussy cut the "You will forever be my always" from the Wedding Cut Outs Cardstock and popped it up using foam tape:

I added some bits and pieces from the Mini Die Cut Shapes package and also some Archival Seeds thru out my layout:

The title, "Forever" is also from Gina's Designs. I covered it in Gesso as well and then when it dried I sprayed it with black mist:

Just another close up of all the goodies!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me!

Lisa here today to share a layout.
I loved playing with the JustNick cut files! They are so fun and easy to use!
I used 3 of her cut files on this prom layout of my daughter:

I am normally not a purple user and hardly have any purple papers in my stash. The ones I did have weren't really a match for what I was going for. So I decided to go with a white background, throw in a little black and create my purple:)
For my background, I used stamps and watercolor.

I used the word "happy" from the Spring Words and added purple Gelato and wet my finger and painted it.

a close up of the title and background work:

I love the Scribbles 3 cut file! It reminded me of flowers, so I added a Dew Drop in the center of them after I misted and added Gelatos to them. How about the light purple daisy matting behind the photo? That is the Crazy Daisy Background, another one of  Nick's cut files! I painted it with watercolor and it looks so dainty, LOVE IT!

The black paper with the white words that I use for a mat is from Amy Tangerine Stitched. The purple journaling box is from Elle's Studio Sycamore Lane:

I added some purple ribbon from my stash and used white cardstock rectangles with black and purple doodling on the edges to create some layering:

Here are the files I used:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are as excited about Nicole's new store as I am!
