Creative Embellishments

Creative Embellishments is a fairly new company to the scrappy world. They offer chipboard, wood veneers and stamps. I recently placed an order with them and love the chipboard items I received! They are gorgeous and are also reasonably priced, which I love even more!

I had some time today so I decided to play around with the Flourish Set 11 along with the January challenge on their blog. You can check out the challenge HERE
I painted the flourish with Gesso and then acrylic paints. I added some Stickles to the greenery and added it to my layout. I have my journaling (wishes) on the yellow piece of patterned paper at the top of my layout:

Here is a close up of the painted flourish:

I ordered more of their chipboard along with a few wood veneers and I can't wait to play some more!

Have a great weekend!

December Project 12

I have been hosting the Life Captured at My Scraps & More and also hosting Project 12 for the Turtle Soup. I am really enjoying it and have 12 double page layouts to show for it!
If you are interested in playing along, I am sad to say we are discontinuing it at My Scraps & More, but we are continuing it at Turtle Soup in 2014! I would love if you would play along!

Here is my 2 pager for December using the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #303, the fabulous Circle Cutter along with Fancy Pants Timbergrove line:

Finally Friday!

It's been a long week with at work one girl at work being off for surgery and another one sick. I am so glad it's Friday! I am going to need the weekend to catch up around the house and hoping for some scrappy time. What are you up to this weekend?

It's Friday, that means there is a new sketch up on the My Scraps & More Sketch Blog.
I used Fancy Pants Timbergrove for this layout of  Sierra and Austin making a snowman:

I used a snowflake punch to make my border on my photo mat.
I added a felt snowflake under a chipboard snowflake and added a button to the top:

Watered down some of my acrylic paints for my background and added a few ink splats/drips:

Added a banner and twine:

Here is the sketch by Wendi Robinson:

If you play along with this fun sketch, don't forget to link it up on the My Scraps & More Sketch Blog for a chance to win a wonderful prize!

Through The Window

Good Monday morning!
Today's challenge up on the Cards In Envy Blog is called "Through the Window":

Through the Window! Create a card where part of the design is INSIDE the card but can be seen from the outside "through the window." Make sure your card is an A2 size (4.25" x 5.5") and is 1/4" or less in thickness to fit in an envelope.

Here is what I came up with using my scalloped circle punch to create my window:

Love the look of these and will be making more!

                                                                    Enjoy your day!

Water Taxi

Today there is a new sketch up at Let's Get Sketchy!

I used some old Cosmo Cricket, the Snorkel collection:

Some close ups:

I have been trying to use some of my stash and it sure feels good to get it used up!
Thanks for sharing your day with me!

Pout

Good morning and happy Saturday!
Today I am sharing a layout of Austin pouting when he was younger. He'd probably kill me if he knew I was posting this, LOL!

I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #920 with insert A, the Star Template for my doily and the Circle Cutter along with a sketch by Bev Code and Crate Paper's Little Boy Blue line:

A few close ups:

Inspiration Elevator January

You may recall that the purpose of this challenge group is to take our scrapbooking to the next level, to stretch our creative process and to grow as artists by embracing challenges that make us think, work and grow. You can view all of the challenges our new Inspiration Elevator Blog, here.

Our challenge this month comes from the very talented Jodi Wilton . Here's what she had to say in her very own words: "My challenge for January. The New Year is always about bettering ourselves; looking into the future, and making goals (some attainable, some not so much). Scrapbooking is about recording the story and most of these stories are in the past, so we don't forget the memories we created. For this challenge I would like you to scrapbook yourself, your family, or a particular family member and where you (or them) would like to be in ten years time. The focus for this challenge is on the journaling. Your layout or art journal may be in the form of a letter to your future self. Your layout may or may not have any photo at all and be all about the journaling. Dip deep! Really think about what you can (or they can) accomplish! What are your dreams? What are your goals? Good luck ladies!"

I decided to write my teen age daughter, Sierra, a letter.  Last year was pretty rough on her and my DH and I, as parents.  So I wanted to keep the journaling private, but I will tell you that it has a lot of my feelings and my hopes and dreams for her in 10 years. The letter is almost 2 pages long. And yes, I did shed a few tears while writing it.

Here is my layout using American Crafts Cut & Paste along with the Heart Frame Set by Creative Embellishments and Scarlett's Friday Inspiration Challenge over at Turtle Soup:

I used a stencil to add light modeling paste. I then added Gelatos and mist:

I added some Cut & Paste chipboard and BoBunny alphas:

After it was dry, I put my letter in an envelope and taped it to the back of the layout:

Thanks Jodi for a fun challenge!

I hope you will hop on over to see with the rest of the girls did with this challenge:

Happy Sunday!

It's that time of the month, our Just Imagine Design Team Reveal.
This month our challenge was easy: Anything goes.

Here is my layout of Sierra post Homecoming, 2012:

Here are a few close ups:
I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #919 for my border and added the negative (blue) to the top of the border:

For the circle, I used the Circle Cutter and cut a circle out and then marked the paper with pencil using the B Stencil. I then took the #919 punch and punched the circle. After I was done punching, I used my Circle Cutter to cut the outside circle:

I used a mask and some mists:

I used the Circle Cutter to cut a few more circles to scatter throughout my layout and also sprinkled some of the negative punches on it:

You can check out what the other ladies did on the Just Imagine Blog.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Woohoo It's Saturday!

I am so ready for the weekend! How about you?
I have a fun layout up on the Just Imagine Blog today and it is also my Tuesday Trigger challenge over at My Scraps & More.
I used the wonderful Circle Cutter to make this layout come together so fast! I cut my circles and then just sliced the bigger ones them using my scissors:

Here are a few close ups:

and here is the awesome Circle Cutter:

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
