A Fare Well
After some thought and consideration, the time has come to retire Inspiration Elevator. But before we go, we need to hold a big retirement party, so we've invited everyone who's been involved with Inspiration Elevator back for one last reveal, and to our delight most were able to accept! We are so delighted to have so many IE alumni along this month! Thank you to each of you for helping us end our elevator ride with so much fun and creative energy!
This month's challenge is posed by one of IE's co-creators and team admin, Ann.
This month's challenge is simple, but I hope, challenging as well.
Here's the challenge: Inspiration Elevator launched on May 15, 2012 and at that time, we explained our purpose as, "Welcome to Inspiration Elevator! What a thrilling day! Today is the launch of Inspiration Elevator (IE), a challenge blog created by my dear friend Christa Uttley and me. We chose the name Inspiration Elevator because it is our intent to raise our creativity to heights through challenges issued every month. We want to raise our designs from the ordinary to the extraordinary. We hope you'll join us on our journey!
IE is a group of like minded scrappy friends who want to raise the bar in their own creative process through unique challenges that we issue to each other once a month. These won't be run of the mill challenges and we hope you'll join us each month and be inspired by the creative designs we've created."

That vision has remained unchanged over the last (almost) 3 years. The challenge this month is to just create - no holds barred. Take some time, or challenge yourself to do it in 1/2 hour if time is tight, but think about what you'd like to create if there were no agenda, no design team requirement. In other words, create for you, and enjoy the process!
I was sad when I read that Inspiration Elevator would be no more after the February challenge. I have been with Ann and Christa for the entire ride up the Inspiration Elevator! Sure there were challenges I thought, "What in the heck am I going to do for this one?" but always after thinking about it, I came up with a plan and loved my layouts! IE has pushed out of my box. I have tried new techniques and love them. The messier they are, the more I love them, LOL! and I have Ann, Christa and all the girls here at IE to thank for that. This is an awesome group of talented ladies and I have learned so much from each and every one of you! Thank you for letting me a part of this talented group!
For my layout, like Ann said, I scrapped for me. I received a Cameo for Christmas and really haven't had a chance to play with it too much. So I took Friday morning and did just that. I used a cut file from Laura Whitaker and a few from the Silhouette store and came up with this:
We hope you'll take the time to hop through and visit each of our participant's blogs, beginning with our guests, then our current team, and finishing off with our co-founders. Feel free to leave comments and lavish each one with appreciation for all that they each brought to the Inspiration Elevator challenge over the last 3 years!
Happy hopping!

Happy Friday!
Any exciting weekend plans?
I am hoping to have a fairly lazy weekend. A few household cores and scrapping time, but Greg probably has other plans. LOL!
Finally getting around to sharing a layout I created earlier this week using a sketch from Stuck?!I used Echo Park a Beautiful Life and a piece of Authentique paper for my background on this layout of Austin. These are not the greatest photos, but they were the only ones I had and I wanted to scrap this proud moment for him.

SeaLife
Hey there Scrappy Friends!
It was my turn to post the sketch challenge at Turtle Soup yesterday.
I used photos taken from Spring Break, 2012 at SeaLife in Mall of America. The kids and DH were not thrilled that I wanted to go, but once they were in the tunnel, they thought it was the coolest thing ever!
I used Fancy Pants Be Different:

Nice Ride!
Hey there Scrappy Friends!
I played with Sketchabilities sketch #132 yesterday and finished it this morning and wanted to share it today. I combined the sketch with Creative Embellishments February ombre challenge for this fun layout of Sierra on a motorcycle at a shop on Clifton Hills by Niagara Falls:
I played with Sketchabilities sketch #132 yesterday and finished it this morning and wanted to share it today. I combined the sketch with Creative Embellishments February ombre challenge for this fun layout of Sierra on a motorcycle at a shop on Clifton Hills by Niagara Falls:
Here are some detail shots of my work:
I used a chevron stencil and added light modeling paste.
I also used a stencil and a Sharpie for my circles and triangles:
Added a few different mists and let it drip:
The chipboard piece is from Creative Embellishments. I cut it, stamped it and then added embossing powder with heat. I love how it turned out!
I added some flowers, a butterfly, buttons and bling.
Here is the sketch:
and Creative Embellishments challenge: Please be inspired by at least one element in the photo and the twist is use an ombre effect anywhere on your project
I was inspired by the bubbles and the monochromatic color in this picture.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me!
