Family Fun

Happy Wednesday!
It has been a busy week so far, but I am taking a few minutes to post a layout I created using sketch #138 at Sketchabilities. I love playing along with their sketches, it brings out the messy side of me!

I used a photo of Greg, the kids and I on a stop along the way of our Jet Boat Tour in the Wisconsin Dells last summer. If you ever get there, make sure to take this awesome ride!
I used a baby line from Crate Paper- Little Bo Peep:

I fussy cut the flowers and used my Cameo to cut the green leaves, which I added watercolor to:

I also cut the word "Family" on my Cameo and the word "Fun" are Thickers. I stitched a thin punched border:

I fussy cut the tags from one of the papers as well:

This shows my stamped & watercolored background:

Here is the fun sketch I used:

Thanks for stopping by. Now I am off to make meatloaf and mashed potatoes for dinner, booster club meeting and then hoping to catch the end of Survivor.

Robin's Nest

Hey there scrappy friends!
Today I am sharing a heritage page I did for my Mom using Robin's Nest products. You can check out all their goodies here: http://www.shop.robinsnest-scrap.net/

Here is my page:
I used Brick Glitter Cardstock for my background.
I cut 2 pennants from Men's Plaid/Compass Cardstock and used both sides. Stitch in place.

I layered from bottom to top:
My Photo
I added some washi tape under the layers.
Cut a piece of Saffron Straw, staple one end to the photo matting and loop 3 times to the left. (You can see my loop better in the full layout above)

I added a handmade dryer sheet flower:
Take a dryer sheet, cut 4 different sized circles from it. Spray with mist. Let dry. Add Stickles to the outer edges. Dry. Glue together (in center only) all layers starting with largest on bottom and smallest on top. Add a Dew Drop to center and scrunch up. Pull apart until you are happy with the result.

Create a few flowers with the Tear Drops.

Use the negative part(triangles) from the pennants you cut and add to bottom of page. Scatter Dew Drops and Smoky Archival Seeds around layout.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

These are just a few photos from my flower gardens last summer.
I used JilliBean Summer Red Raspberry Soup for my layout:

I used watercolors and stamps to create my background.
I added bits and pieces of this collection throughout my layout.

Nature Calls

Happy Monday!
Where oh where do the weekends go? Way too short for sure.
There's a new challenge up over at Cards In Envy. The challenge is to create an A2 card that fits in an envie with standard postage and feature things found in nature.
Here's what I came up with using October Afternoon Campfire collection:

I took a strip of green paper and used scissors to create  the faux grass. I fussy cut the tree and added the bird border along with the fox sticker. Easy peasy!
Hope you will play along with us!
