Fancy Layout for Stuck?!

Hey there!
It's the 15th of the month and that means a new sketch is up at Stuck?! Sketches! Laura always has such wonderful sketches and it's a great starting point for a layout! We would love to have you play along!

I used mostly Pink Paislee along with some Petaloo Darjeeling flowers and a few fun items from Creative Embellishments.
Here's my layout:

I added watercolors to my white cardstock background. Then I used the Twinkle Stamp from Creative Embellishments and stamped on my background using black ink. Finally I used the Fairy Dust Stencil from Creative Embellishments along with Nuvo Glimmer Paste. I just bought this from the local scrappy store and I love it! I couldn't believe how fast it dried!

I added some of the gorgeous Petaloo Darjeeling flowers, a doily and a few Pink Paislee embellies. I used a Martha Stewart punch for my border.

I love this "Fancy" foam sticker from Pink Paislee (Citrus Bliss collection) and it was perfect for this photo! I also love the pop of pink the "Remember" puffy sticker adds.

I layered several of the patterned papers from the 6x6 C'est LaVie paper pad under my photo and added some stitching. I also added a few Petaloo butterflies.

Here is the sketch:

I love this sketch and also how my layout came out!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Cards In Envy

Hello!
Do you have a favorite color combo you love to use when scrapping? The challenge for the next few weeks at Cards In Envy is to create a card using your favorite color combo of two or three colors.
My favorite color combo is orange and teal! It reminds me of summer and I love scrapping with them!
I created a card, using no patterned paper. If you know my scrapping, you know that I almost always use patterned papers. But not this time...
While on Pinterest, I saw a few cards that had only used mists, inks or paints for the background. They added a stamped sentiment and a few butterflies. So I decided to try it.

I used watercolors on white cardstock and then added a few colored cardstocks behind the white. It looked to plain, so I added some twine:

Here's a close up:

I'm still not sure I love it, maybe my colors were too soft. Next time I may try it with mists.

Have a great day!

Together

Hey there! Happy Mother's Day!
Today I am sharing a layout of my children and used a winter photo from last year.
I am proud to have these 2 for my kids and am so lucky to be their mom!

I used a sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap. They are celebrating their 5th birthday this month, all month long!

Here is what I came up with using Fancy Pants Timbergrove:

I am not sure where the cut file (snowflake) came from, it's been sitting in my scraproom for quite some time and when I saw the sketch, I knew it was finally time to use it!

I painted the snowflake and background with watercolors and then added mist and paint spatters.I stitched the snowflake in place.
The snowflakes and title word "Together" are chipboard pieces from Creative Embellishments. I colored them with Nuvo Glitter Markers. These photos do not do those pieces justice, they are so sparkly in person.

Here is a close up of the layers under the photo:

Another glimpse of the layers and embellies:

Easter Eggs

Hey there scrappy friends!
When coloring Easter eggs with my kids last month, I bought an egg dye set that had foil and glue in it. After several attempts using the glue that came with the kit and no success with the foil sticking to the egg, I grabbed my bottle of the Best Glue Ever with the No Clog Writing Cap on it. I added some to the colored egg,

spread it around using my finger, let it dry until it was clear and tacky and then placed the foil on top and rubbed:

Here is the perfect result:

I tried it again on another egg and received the same beautiful result:

Doesn't the foil look pretty?!

Next year when coloring eggs, I will grab my Best Glue Ever and use ScraPerfect's Transfer Foils and skip the foil dye kit. I love the results the Best Glue Ever gave me. It has replaced a bunch of adhesives in my home and scrappy room!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Life Inspired

Hey there Scrappy Friends!
Today I am sharing a layout I created this morning about my Dad and a few aunts and uncles.
My Dad has alzheimers and is in a home. This photo was taken by aunt Carol when they went to visit him.
I used Pink Fresh Live More and a sketch from My Creative Scrapbook for this page:

For the border at the bottom, I added a strip of patterned paper along with some washi tape and machine stitched. Then I added some of the ephemera and tangled thread.

Here I added a card stitched in place and a few arrows from the ephemera pack.

A few more cut apart cards, a tag and some more tangled thread.

Here is the sketch:

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

My Graduate

Hello!
It has almost been a year since Sierra graduated from high school. Where did that time go?! I haven't scrapped all the pics yet, so thought I would pull this one out and use it along with Creative Embellishments and Simple Stories You Are Here collection:

I added orange embossing powder, this was the first time I used it, to the "My Graduate" chippy and the circles and heat embossed it. The orange was too bright, so I toned it down a bit with a Sharpie paint pen.

I added some of the Petaloo flowers from last months cross promo. I love them and need more colors, LOL!

I added another chipboard circle and colored this one with Gesso and Gelatos. I also added the wood veneer sun and cloud from the Rain or Shine set and colored it with Gelatos. Check out that "Shine" Flair Gold"! Love it! I added some tangled thread behind it:

I added a few different colored doilies, punched circle and the chipboard circles in a cluster at the top and bottom of my page:

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me! Don't forget to check out the monthly challenge at Creative Embellishments and play along for a chance to win $50 in Creative Embellishment goodies!

Family Layout- 123 Challenge Blog

Hey there!
I have some exciting news to share with you....
I am guest designing for 123 Challenge Blog this month! I am so excited!

The challenge this month is:

  • Use the color teal
  • Use the word family
  • Use a stencil
I used a family photo that was taken last October along with a few Creative Embellishment pieces, some flowers from my stash, The Best Glue Ever and lots of mists!

I created my background using a Prima Stencil and some light modeling paste. Then I added teal and green mists. Then I used the Fairy Dust Stencil and added some BoBunny Sugar Glitter Paste. Finally I stamped with black in and the Distressed Circle Stamp

I used lots of flowers, some I have had in my stash for at least 10 years! I also used a Creative Embellishments  tree colored with mist. I added a flair button from Creative Embellishments and a few leaves cut from a  Silhouette cut file:

Here is a side view of the "Family" banner. I added mists to color it.

I added some sequins scattered throughout the page.

I would love if you would stop over to the 123 Challenge Blog and leave me a comment!
Enjoy your day!

Live For The Moment

Hey there!
This is my last post for the day- It's a busy May 1st for me.
I am sharing the layout I created for the May 1st sketch at Stuck?! Sketches. I love working with Laura's sketches! They are amazing!
I used Pink Fresh Dream On for this fun layout of Sierra:
As usual, I used watercolors for my background. I just love the softness it adds. I also added Heidi Swapp Color Shine spatters. I machine stitched the circles with navy thread:

I added some of the diecuts from the ephemera pack and popped a few up with foam tape.

I added a few strips of paper above and below the photo and used my sewing machine to add some zig zag stitching. I love that rainbow and popped it up with foam tape to add some dimension:

I just had to use that "Live For The Moment" diecut and decided to use it as my title. And check out that cute bird, love him!

Here is Laura's fabulous sketch:

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Creative Embellishments May Challenge

Hello and happy May Day!
It's the first of the month and that means a new challenge is up at Creative Embellishments! Here is my layout using Carta Bella from my stash:

This is the photo:

There are so many things in this challenge photo to take inspiration from. I took mine from the music note, the sun burst and hearts. To create my background, I added watercolors and then using the Grunge Star Stamp stamped randomly on my page using black ink. I used one of the Music Note Borders, cut it in half and placed one half on each side of my photo. I used the Basic Alphabet Set for the "In Concert" part of my title.  I scattered some of the Wood Veneer Heart Clusters around my layout. I colored all of the Creative Embellishment pieces with my new Nuvo Glitter Markers.

Here are a few close ups:

Have a wonderful day and I can't wait to see how the photo inspires you!

Motherly Love

Hello scrappy friends!
It's the first Monday of the month, that means a new challenge up at Cards In Envy. The challenge is to create a card that shows "Motherly Love". This could be a Mother's day card or a card for any occasion.
I used October Afternoon Woodland Park for this Mother's Day card for my mom:

Here's a close up:
I fussy cut the flowers from patterned papers, added a diecut butterfly, word stickers and some twine.

Check out what the rest of the design team did on the Cards In Envy blog.
Thanks for stopping by and stay scrappy!
