Almost Like A Fairy Tale

Hello Scrappy Friends!
Today I am sharing another layout with you that I created for Creative Embellishments. These photos were taken in the Stockyards Station in Fort Worth Texas last January. I am a huge fan of using lights to decorate and thought this area was so pretty! To create my background, I added light modeling paste through the Twinkle Star (upper) and Crackled Brick (lower) Stencils. Once it was dry, I added watercolors. I let it dry again and added some white acrylic paint spatters. I added a strip of torn wood grained patterned paper from PaperHouse and stitched it in place:

I inked a few of the Spruce Clusters, added white acrylic paint spatters. I added them to my background. I also tucked in the Christmas Light Strand 1. I inked this as well. I added my photos which I matted on black cardstock:

Here is the  Spruce Cluster on the right side of my photos. The "be happy" and "my life" chipboard are Mambi chips from my stash:

I used Prima, HipKit Club and Thickers from my stash for my title, machine stitching some:

I used white acrylic paint and brown inks on the Horse & Buggy. I added it under my photos:

To finish off my layout, I added some white acryluc paint spatters, my journaling and some Tim Holtz and Simple Stories word phrase stickers:

I had a blast creating this fun layout! I hope I have inspired you in some way. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Texas Longhorn

Hey there Creative Friends!
Happy Birthday to my Mom! She turns 87 today!
I am back to share a layout with you that I created for Creative Embellishments. On our trip to Texas last winter, I got to see my first longhorn! We were walking through Stockyards Station to get to the rodeo and came across this beauty:

I started my layout with black textured cardstock and added white acrylic paint spatters to it. I added inks to a few Grunge Mini Frames, placed them on my background and then added my photos on top:

I added a Recollection flower along with some die cut leaves on the right side of the photo:

On the lower left side of the photo I created another cluster  consisting of diecut leaves, a flower and the cowboy hat, boot, rope and longhorn are from the Cowboy Set. I inked them and added white paint spatters. I also added a Barbed Wire Border that I inked. For my title, I used Making Memories alphas from my stash:

I inked and cut another Grunge Mini Frames and added the pieces on the top left and lower right side of my page. I created clusters in both of these spots as well:

I love how all these elements pop against the black background. I also love how this page came out! I think it is my favorite!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Live In The Sunshine

 Hey everyone!

Today I am sharing my take on case file #416 at CSI. I used Simple Stories Hello Summer and Making Memories alphas for this fun beach page:

I stuck some washi tape to white cardstock and then used a scalloped punch. Then machine stitched it to the top and bottom of my page. I fussy cut clouds, sun and title from the Simple Stories papers:

I added strips of patterned papers ( i used the wave punch on one) and machine stitched through those. I added 3 photos. I added the fussy cut flamingo and the chipboard starfish and banner:

I added the "just chillun" die cut, the "life's A Beach" sticker, some fussy cut sunglasses popped up on foam and my journaling:

I used some Making Memories alphas from my stash and the fussy cut "summer" word for the sub title. I added the bucket and pail stickers along with some fussy cut flip-flops

Here's a quick look at the case file:

I was inspired by the colors and used: small dots, woodgrain, stripes, summer/beach themed elements, sun, clouds, waves, palm tree, banner, flip-flops, sunglasses, spatters and a cursive font.

This was such a fun layout to create! Not only that, but I used all items from my stash!
I hope you find some time to play along with us this month.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Sweet Georgia Peaches

Hello there Friends!
Today I am back to share another travel page with you that I created for Creative Embellishments. Since Greg has retired, he has worked a few weeks at a time at a mill in Georgia. I went with him on all  3 of his trips- it was a great way to break up the Wisconsin winter. Our second trip, we found a peach and pecan orchard store and stopped in. It was in December, so there weren't any fresh peaches, dang, I was looking forward to them! I used the Peaches chipboard pieces along with PaperHouse Productions Discover USA collection for this page:

I added strips of papers on the right and left side of my page. I added some machine stitching. I colored the Peaches with inks. I used Cloud 9 and Jenni Bowlin alphas for my title:

I added a 4 x 6 card and placed my photos around it. I added more Peaches here and also stitched through the alphas.

I fussy cut some of the shiny blue acrylic pieces and added those to my page. I also added another Peach:

Here's another look at the 4 x 6 card and a peach slice:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Nashville Adventure

Hey there creative friends!
I am back to share a fun Nashville page with you that I created for Creative Embellishments. Our first trip to Nashville was in March of 2022. Greg and I have been there 2 other times since then, we love it! This layout has a photo of Greg on our first trip. I used some fabulous chipboard from the store along with Basic Grey and PaperHouse Productions papers from my stash:

I cut strips of patterned papers and added them along the left and right side of my page by machine stitching. I added some watercolor.  For my title, I used: Nashville, Street Signs (One Way) and Travel Word Set 1 (Adventure):

I added a Travel Geo Tag  to the top of my photo:

I fussy cut the signs from some of the papers and popped them up with craft foam to add some dimension. I added a stamped date. I also added the City Scape Border at the bottom of the layout:

I colored all the chipboards with inks.
I had a blast creating this fun travel page! I hope I have inspired you in some way.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Smile

 Hey everyone!

Today I am sharing my take on sketch #574 at Sketches In Thyme. The sketch was created by the talented Jenessa Franco. I used a Park Lane paper pad, Sophistacated Neutrals for this page of  Austin and I at Trevor's wedding:

I decided to add a few patterned papers with torn edges to the top of my page to add a base for my photo to sit. I machine stitched them in place. I fussy cut some flowers and added them to the top left of my photo on a nest of silver tangled thread:

Because I didn't have any embellishments for this collection, I made my own by fussy cutting things from patterned paper. This works also for paper collections that you have used all the embellishgments. I fussy cut a few more flower clusters and added them to the lower right side of my photo. I fussy cut the "be lovely" circle , added some tangled thread under it and used some craft foam to pop it off the page a bit. I added a few chevron arrows that I fussy cut. I stitched through the center and ruffled them up:

I used the Thicker word "Smile" for my title and added craft foam under it to pop it up:

I fussy cut the "live life to the fullest" and tucked that in. I added a cluster of fussy cut embellishments to the bottom left of my page:

Here is the gorgeous sketch by Jenessa:

I will cherish this page of Austin and I. He doen't like his photo taken, so it is rare that I get a decnt picture of him.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Christmas In July Album

Hi everyone!
I am back to share another album I created for Creative Embellishments. I will call this one Christmas in July, lol! I am having so much fun with these albums!  This one is bigger than my last two. This one measures 9x10". I used the tutorials by Bev Code once again along with lots of Creative Embellishments chipboard and Carta Bella Christmas and Happy Christmas collections. I used ink pads, a red Sharpie and various mists to color the chipboard.

I am back with a hand made Christmas album that I created for Creative Embellishments I will call it Christmas in July, lol! I am having so much fun with these albums!  This one is bigger than my last two. This one measures 9x10". I used the tutorials by Bev Code once again along with lots of Creative Embellishments chipboard and Echo Park Christmas and Happy Christmas collections. I used ink pads, a red Sharpie and various mists to color the chipboard. On the cover, I used: Christmas Bulb, Poinsettia Set, Prancing Deer, Tiny Tag, Have A Holly Jolly Christmas 2, Chipboard Snowflakes and the Noel is a custom size piece that Nicolle created. I cut a berry off and added that to the inside of the poinsettia:

I fussy cut the wreath from one of the papers and layered the chipboard pieces on, under and around it. I also fussy cut the deer and tucked it in. I added some Divine Twine to the Tiny Tag:

I decided to use a few different mists and inks to the Have a Holly Jolly Christmas 2 piece and I love how it came out! I added some sheer ribbon from my stash to the Christmas Bulb. I added lots of watered down white acylic paint spatters to this album. Snowflakes aren't brown, but I thought they matched and I could get away with it, lol.

Page 1 has a booklet that pulls out. I added the Scrawny Tree and the Merry Christmas Sentiment. Page 2 has two booklets tucked in. I added the Baubles to one and the Deer Blank to the other.

Here's a close up of the Baubles. I used Heidi Swapp gold colorshine to paint them. When that was dry, I added light modeling paste through two CE stencils- Snowflake and Twinkle Star. I love how this looks!

I colored the Christmas Wreath and then added a red Bow on top:

Page 3: Merry Christmas ATC Coin and a wood veneer Tree Page 4: Christmas Light Strand 2 and a Christmas Sentiment (Mistletoe)

I received this tag in a swap over 10 years ago from a scrappy friend named Jan. I always loved it and thought it was perfect for this album. Check it out, isn't it awesome? It originally had small red sparkly Joy over the green joy but somewhere in those 10 plus years I lost the "y", so I replaced it with the red bling:

This is the inside of page 4 & 5. There is lots of room for photos:

Page 5: Christmas Train & Peace is another custom word Nicolle created. Page 6: Christmas Wreath, Bow and Snowflake Banner

Here's a close up look at that cute Christmas Train:

A close up of the Christmas Wreath and Bow:

Page 5 has a booklet that pulls out. I added a Shine ATC Frame and a Scribble Light to it. Page 6 opens like this and I also added part of the Snowflakes Border here.

I really enjoyed creating this album and I love how it came out! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
